Hi crafty friends 🥰
I finally dug into my garage and pulled out my old Susan Jill Hall books… and whew, the memories came flooding back. This is honestly where so much of my love for yard art began. Years ago I would drive down to Redlands to Susan’s store (Good Goods) just to get her newest books, then wander through my other favorite store O’ Flanary’s Emporium dreaming up projects and filling my head with ideas. Funny enough, one of my sweet follower and friend Judy does classes there, and I love that the little shop is still going strong. If any of you are ever in that area, you really should check it out and make sure to sign up for one of Judy’s classes ❤️
I was heartbroken to hear Susan passed away from cancer. She was truly one of those artists that inspired so many of us to create with our hands and just use what we had to make something magical. I can only imagine where her creativity would’ve gone through the years.
So here’s what I’ve decided…
I’m going to start sharing some yard art patterns inspired by the joy these books brought me. We’re going to do what we do best around here… create together, learn together, and share ideas freely. ❤️
So yes….dust off those old boards, grab your paint, and let’s make some whimsical yard art just for the love of creating again. 🥰
