Esteemed friends, fans, colleagues and familia...

We are so excited to announce this new lineup for 880 South and we hope it's our final/last band lineup. This track features three original 880 South members in on guitar, Greg Medeiros and Weege on keys, guitar, vocals as well as Chelsea Martinez on horns and now features Roy Camelloon drums who is now also a full time member of 880 South. Also this cover photo is taken by Weege's daughter Layla Casaretto. This tune is a little throwback to the old style of rocksteady ska. It has a really bouncy fun uptempo vibe and the lyrics are very much about thriving and surviving hardships. That's why the wild sunflower is so symbolic because it's such a hardy lifeform and we are absolutely survivors in this wild world we live in. We hope you love it.

If you do love it. Please buy it on BandCamp or iTunes. Or I guess you can stream it tonight at 10pm Mountain Time on all the major streaming platforms. But...you could buy it right now and jam it in your ride on the way home from work.

Weege here. In honor of my wedding anniversary I have decided to release this song a day earlier than the streaming release! Missy and I always loved beach trips! Please give it a spin and if you love it, download it. Every dollar goes to our advertising & marketing efforts. We don't pocket a dime of it yet. Bless!

We did something different this time. I call it a hybrid southwestern hawaiian reggaeish vibe. It's like dabbling with country tones but you can still drive around the country to it and think of your loved ones from far away. Enjoy!

Touring Musician hack. Don't put band or gear stickers on your van or trailer. I thought this was a known thing. In fact put on a doggy p**p clean up service decal. No thief wants to steal p**per scoopers and s**t cans.

Some of you old schoolers might notice a big difference in the new 880 South sound. It's still me and Greg laying down the foundations but now we got Chelsea on horns, sometimes Steve and we're always pushing ourselves to go out on a limb to not be labeled as any genre. We even brought in Guch on drums for a few tunes and I play drums and keys on a few songs as well. It's more of a studio driven songwriting collaborative now but we do have plans to gig(kinda).

That might not be ideal for trying to get "popular" or whatever but we're having fun pushing ourselves to new heights. Of course we still play reggae and occasionally add those rock tones but we're not going to keep playing the same bullls**t. We make this music to impress ourselves.

So I'm grateful to all who have rode with us from 2002 on, hell, from 1999 on(Floppy Rods era). It means a lot to us. I'm sorry I strayed a little and did the Weege project, I know that s**t was confusing for the old school fans. I should have just kept the name I started with(like Clev told me to do) but it's all a valuable lesson and an amazing journey regardless and I'm super honored we even have fans who love our s**t regardless.

We just released a song called Take You Home and then next Friday we're dropping a song called "Something Has Changed". It's a lil different fam, kind of like a organic reggeton latin infusion with horns and pop hooks. I hope it's received well. I hope you all understand we're just having fun now and the whole "business" side of it aint s**t to us. We're just gonna drop 2 songs a month regardless of what outsiders think we should be doing.
