From time to time, someone comes in with a tattoo that simply doesn’t represent who they are anymore. It no longer fits their personality, their vibe, or the aesthetic they want.

When we’re young, most of us have made a few less-than-thought-out decisions. This was one of those “I really want a tattoo, and I don’t care what it is” moments that eventually turned into, “Why the heck did I do that?” 😂 But that doesn’t mean you’re stuck with it forever.

This client had been told the cover-up would be too difficult—that it couldn’t be done without laser removal or covering it with something big, solid, and black. Then she came to see me.

I’ll be honest: at first, I was a little nervous about taking it on. After roughly five failed attempts at drawing a successful cover-up, I finally landed on this design—and I’m absolutely in love with the results!

Let me know what you think! And please don’t ever feel embarrassed about reaching out if you have an old tattoo you’ve been hoping to cover. We’ve all made decisions that no longer fit who we are. Sometimes it just takes the right design, a little patience, and an artist willing to figure it out. 🖤

A quick reminder about tattoo appointments. ❤️

When you book an appointment with a tattoo artist, that time is reserved specifically for you. Your artist plans their day around it, prepares for your tattoo, and often turns away other clients because that spot belongs to you.

We absolutely understand that emergencies happen. Life happens.

But last-minute cancellations and no-shows have a very real impact on a small business. When there isn't enough notice to fill that appointment, those hours—and that income—are simply gone.

For independent artists, appointments aren't just spots on a calendar. They're how we pay our bills, support our families, and keep our doors open.

If you need to reschedule, please give us as much notice as possible so we have an opportunity to fill your spot.

We appreciate every person who respects their appointment time and supports our artists and our little shop. ❤️

One of the coolest parts about working in a tattoo shop AND bookstore is getting pieces like this in my chair. 📚🪶

There’s just something fitting about tattooing a beautiful old book, quill, florals, and all those little details while literally being surrounded by books every day. 😂

I had an absolute blast putting this piece together—the textures, the subtle color, the feather, and all the fine details made this one especially fun to tattoo.

Books and tattoos under one roof… turns out that’s a pretty awesome combination. ❤️📖
