Salute To Freedom - July Events Team This Fourth of July celebration is a huge celebration. Our city Parade starts at 9:00 am and then FREE events in Hap McLean Park all day.

Rounding out with a Concert and Fireworks in the Park at sunset!

Grand Marshall 2023
Jack Whitson

It is with great honor and pride that we announce that Mr. Jack Whitson is the Grand Marshal for this year's Fourth of July Parade. Jack Whitson's unwavering commitment to the city and his extensive service in various capacities make him a true icon of our community.
In the realm of elected office, Jack served as a member of the first City Council from 1981 to 1982, during which the council consisted of five members and had two-year terms. Later, he was elected as the Mayor, serving from 1987 to 1989.
He was employed with the city and served in the positions of Planning and Zoning Administrator, Economic Development and Public Works Director, and City Administrator. When he retired, the Wichita Eagle referred to him as “Mr. Park City” and the Park City Post referred to him as “ The Father of Park City.”
He has held numerous volunteer positions and currently, serves as on the Convention and Visitors Board and is Executive Director of the Park City Chamber of Commerce.
