Krider Performing Arts Center Krider Performing Arts Center is a community arts venue.

Administrated by the City of Paris, KPAC supports a thriving children's theater program and local schools, and it offers a facility for promoters to book performers for public events. KPAC is a 605 seat theatre which produces in-house events and rents its facilities for performances and events.

Baby Bear is waiting (only somewhat patiently) for Papa Bear and Mama Bear to get it together to take her to see Shrek the Musical JR this weekend at KPAC.

Friday night at 7, Saturday afternoon at 3 or Sunday afternoon at 3. She doesn't care which show; she just wants to see it. Be Like Baby Bear!

AUDITIONS ANNOUNCED - Young Artists who are interested in joining HarmoniX this coming semester may audition on Tuesday, August 18 at KPAC. Arrive between 3:30 and 4:30 PM. Students in 6th through 12th grades may audition. Be prepared to sing a 60-second acapella cut of a song that shows your voice well.

HarmoniX is our KPAC Young Artists' acapella vocal ensemble. The focus is developing musical skill in hearing, anticipating, and singing (holding) harmony parts. Developing a musical "ear" for harmony creates a strong foundation for many vocal and musical applications later in life!

Young Artists who are selected to participate must prioritize our Tuesday rehearsal time from 3:45 to 5:15 and should look ahead on the calendar to clear the schedule as much as possible. We only rehearse once weekly and there's much to learn before our Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 6.

An exciting development is that HarmoniX will learn a song to perform with HCHS Madrigals this Christmas season!

HarmoniX will also sing at several functions during the Christmas season, and young artists are expected to be at all community performances.

There is no cost to audition. The cost to participate if selected is $50 per semester. Start thinking about your audition selections and show up between 3:30 and 4:30 to audition on Tuesday, August 18!

FAQ's:

1. Do you have to live in Paris or Henry County to participate? NO. We have members from other counties.

2. Can homeschooled or private school students participate? ABSOLUTELY.

3. Will you be performing only secular music during the Christmas Season? NO. We sing at several churches during the Christmas Season and our selections include sacred Christmas music. If that does not work for you, audition for semester 2.

4. Do you have to buy fancy/expensive dresses or suits for performers? NO. We ask students to select concert-appropriate, black attire of no particular source.

5. Is financial assistance available for the registration fee? There is an application form for financial assistance. Families who qualify can receive assistance for the registration fee.

KPAC Young Artists offers a new and fun opportunity for children ages 4 and 5 to have a first on-stage experience. This One-Week Pirate Adventure requires no audition. Our young pirates will sail across the seas in search of treasure. Upon reaching the treasure island, they must get past a tiger in the jungle, past an alligator in the river, and past a beautiful butterfly who tries to make them fall asleep in order to steal the treasure map.

Using easy call and response lyrics and dialogue, "A Preschool Pirate Adventure" is designed for maximum fun and minimum stress! With no lines or lyrics to memorize, our little pirates follow and mimic their piratey theatre leaders, Finley Homesley and Owen Wade, as the adventure ensues.

There are 5 rehearsals at Krider Performing Arts Center, 650 Volunteer Drive, Paris, TN, from 10 to 11 AM on July 13-17. Then there is a single performance on Saturday, July 18 at 10:00 AM. 7:30 instead of 7:00. Oh the weather outside is ... toasty! Starting at 7:30 will allow the sun to be close to dipping behind the tree line on the stage for our performers. Please come and bring a chair at 7:30. Run through the splash park for a sec if you get warm. It is open and free for all!
