Our Cartoon project was due today, here's some of the students work. The assignment was to pick a Cartoon character and split it into 3 parts: realism, abstract, and non-objective.

Last week we finished our unit on Cubism. The kids made self portraits in their choice of analytical or synthetic cubism.

Proud of how awesome this project turned out. The PJH Art kids made these Mixed Media pictures out of watercolor, pen, marker, pencil, color pencil, crayon, and torn images.

The boxes on the bottom are artist cubes, telling about the artist's style, life, and work.

We had our first movie on stop motion cinema last week and on Friday the students got to experiment with doh. The Nightmare Before Christmas has so many impressive qualities and getting to read the kids answers from this unit was great.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful winter break. Some of my students did their final projects on a few of these artists and we have talked about them in class as well. See how many you can recognize!

Very excited to see the kids final exam projects tomorrow! The kids had over a week to choose an artist and make a cube about who they are and what they do. Students were encouraged to think "outside the box" on this one and add anything they wanted to make their piece stand out.

Grid drawings are turned in and graded. Students took pictures of animals and drew them using the grid method to help break down more complicated pictures.

The Paper Mache projects are on display in the library. From food to animals and mythical creatures we have quite the variety of sculptures.
