“What made playing Hermes so special was the character’s unwavering belief in trying again. Even though the story ends in tragedy, Hermes continues to tell it, holding onto the hope that one day it might turn out differently. The motif of doing something over and over again and hoping it finally goes right, resonated with me on a personal level. Whether it’s in theater, school, or life, failure is unavoidable. But Hadestown taught me that there is strength in persistence and hope, even if it leads me back to square one. "He lacks confidence, but when he finds something he loves, he will do anything to protect it. His love for Eurydice is pure and powerful, and portraying that was a challenge. It helped that my best friend played Eurydice, so we already had a strong connection going into the show. Orpheus was the hardest role I have ever had to play, but it was also my favorite. It challenged me vocally, pushed me out of my comfort zone, and taught me how important it is to believe in myself. Eurydice isn’t an easy role, she’s complex, guarded, and shaped by insecurities and survival. Stepping into her shoes meant exploring emotions that were heavier and more layered than anything I have ever had to bring to life on stage before.
