She was dead in her sin
Alive in the night
Haunted by demons
She'd given them right
To taunt and remind her
Of all that she'd done
She had no idea
That God sent His Son
To free her from the grasp
Of darkness and sin
Cleanse her renew her
Give her a new heart within
Suddenly she noticed
A book by the bed
Intrigued by the cover
She opened up and read
How all have sinned
And of His glory fall short
We all need the grace
That's in Jesus our Lord
She fell to her knees
Acknowledging her need
She wept and repented
In that moment she believed
Her burden was lifted
God's mercy revealed
Her sins were forgiven
By the stripes she was healed

There's a thorn in my flesh
There's a wound on my heart
Life is often ugly
Life can be so dark
Take it in stride
Love along the way
Be at war with pride
Never cease to pray

The body dies a little more
Each and every day
It's a consequence of our sin
The road is paved in pain
Keep your gaze on eternity
Our home is not this world
In store for us are greater things
Promised in God's Word

No eye has seen, no ear has heard
No mind can comprehend
The blessings in store for those of us
Who find our rest in Him
The pain that we're enduring now
Is nothing to be compared
To the glory He'll reveal to us
In His perfect eternal plan
