Gallery of Art 850 We are a downtown Fine Art Gallery & Listening Room for Live Music. Mary Ola Miller founded the Gallery of Art in 1967.

Mark White + Kim Griffin White continue her mission to exhibit a wide range of local artists in the 850 area, as well as live music. Mary Ola Miller opened the Gallery of Art in 1966 which was one of the only art galleries in this area and she ran her gallery until her death in 2011. The current Gallery of Art is run by Mark White & Kim Griffin White who continue engaging & welcoming all things creative in our beautiful community.

Charlotte Miller is a 24-year-old British artist whose painting ‘Claiming gained widespread attention online as a bold commentary on “manspreading” on public transport.

The artwork depicts a woman sitting with her legs apart on the London Underground, reversing the familiar gendered expectation around who feels entitled to occupy public space.

Miller explained that the idea was inspired by repeatedly seeing men take up extra room on the Tube and recognising how differently the same posture would be perceived if adopted by a woman.
