10 Years Ago today I lost my best friend on this Earth. He was the Master of all things Creative. All the art you see me doing this a direct result and inspiration of KEENAN HARRIS! This a true Legend and Legends never Die. Truly a special Soul truly Marly Made. He was RZA of our Wutang. In the heart of Milwaukee, violent crime remains a pressing concern. While there has been a notable 39% reduction in homicides and a 27% decrease in non-fatal shootings in the first quarter of 2024 compared to last year, the need for community-based solutions to combat violence and foster healing is critical ~ This is where Paint 4 Peace steps in.

**What is Paint 4 Peace?**
Paint 4 Peace is an initiative dedicated to combating gun violence through the transformative power of art. Founded with the belief that healing brings peace, and peace fosters a cohesive, loving, and nurturing society, our mission is to provide free artistic opportunities to Milwaukee's underserved communities.

**Why Paint 4 Peace is Essential:**
- **Combatting Violence:** Despite recent declines, Milwaukee's violence rates highlight an urgent need for community intervention. Programs like Paint 4 Peace help address the root causes of violence by providing positive, creative outlets.
- **Promoting Healing:** Art therapy has proven benefits in mental health, promoting inner peace and enabling individuals to react more peacefully with the world around them.
- **Accessibility:** Art education can be prohibitively expensive. For instance, tuition at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) is approximately $39,230 per year and a Bachelor’s degree in Art at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) costs around $9,580 annually for in-state. Paint 4 Peace offers free art and craft classes, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to explore and develop their artistic skills without financial barriers.

**Bringing People Together:**
Art transcends cultural, racial, and age boundaries, creating a space where diverse communities can come together. Milwaukee is one of the most segregated cities in the United States, with a high segregation index and a significant separation between Black and white residents. Paint 4 Peace directly combats this issue by fostering a multicultural environment where all walks of life in Milwaukee can unite, share experiences, and build connections through art.

- **Free Admission** Our events are always free to attend. Artists can sell their works without gallery percentage fees, making art accessible and financially viable.

- **Educational Opportunities:** With a lack of free classes in the city, our program fills a crucial gap, offering high-quality art education to those who might not otherwise have access.
