Finding great audition material for kids can be difficult, especially monologues that both challenge and showcase the skills of young actors. Palo Alto Children’s Theatre’s Collection of Monologues, inspired by fairytales and other classic stories, is perfect for actors ages 8+, whether they are preparing for an audition, taking an acting class, or just interested in performing in the living room. With familiar characters such as Jack and the Beanstalk, Alice in Wonderland, Thumbelina and the Scarecrow, young performers will discover plenty of opportunities to show off a range of acting skills.

Reminder – Teen Actors! Playhouse Series auditions are this week. Playhouse productions are perfect for busy teens, because they can participate in a play with a commitment of just two weeks!

Announcing Playhouse Series Auditions!
When: August 21 from 5-7 p.m. OR August 22 from 11a.m-1p.m.
Ages: Open to ages 13-High School
What to expect: Playhouse Series auditions are held as a group, and last approximately 90 minutes. No prepared material is needed. Auditions typically consist of improvisation games (and you may be asked to learn a short song).
After Auditions: Monthly Playhouse Productions are cast from a pool of eligible actors through-out the school year. Each production commitment lasts 2 weeks. Community service hours are available.
