From the moment you enter this secluded circle in the iconic Canyon View Estates, you're transported ba

ck to the late 1960s, with intact William Krisel-designed homes on tour, a curated collection of classic vehicles in the carports and driveways, and go-go platforms for our very own Cul-de-Sac Dancers to shake things up. Our DJs spinning period vinyl music, high fashion models, and some special surprises make this an event you won't forget! And there’s a guided behind-the-scenes tour of the pool and garden areas, sensitively redesigned with drought-tolerant desert landscaping. You'll marvel at the architectural details of the homes that define midcentury modern—the innovative double gable roofs with clerestory windows all around, the patterned concrete block, the elegant stone fronts, and the unique decor that each homeowner has adapted to their lifestyle. souvenir booklet—filled with history, photos and vintage ads—and a smile on their face! There are 5 morning sessions, approximately one hour each. Come dressed and ready to pose, this is social media catnip! As Palm Springs Life says, "It’s midcentury modern eye candy at its finest.”

Another one is in the books! A sellout crowd of over 600 had a memorable morning at Cul de Sac Swinging ‘66. So many volunteers to thank, along with our incredible talent team of Jeff Stork, Bob Deck and Dee Dee Starr, who totally brought it with her pro team of dancers. Juli Cavnar, Lise Baadh, and Gordon Mehus are the production team leaders, and dozens of other volunteers. The funds raised go directly to help the HOA do turf removal as we adjust to climate change.

Ever hear one of the catchiest jingles of the mid-60s? Meet the Sw***er, the Polaroid Sw***er! This 1965 TV commercial stars a young Ali McGraw and is sung by none other than Palm Springs royalty Barry Manilow. Our Cul de Sac Dancers (led by Miss DeeDee Starr) will be doing a special Sw***er tribute dance number, complete with vintage cameras!

This year's Cul de Sac theme is Swinging '66! and we have some exciting developments in store! We'll have 6 midcentury Krisel homes on tour, a curated collection of special cars from 1965-67 (including one on a rotating stand!), a garden and pool tour, a very rare collection of numerous vintage toys from the era, a live DJ spinning vinyl, and our Cul de Sac go-go-dancers—plus some other surprises.

The design theme is Mondrian, inspired by Yves St Laurent's debut of his Mondrian dress collection for fall/winter 1965-66 based on the art of Piet Mondrian. That collection rocked YSL to fame and became a lasting style that defined the mid-60s. Come dressed in your favorite geometric look to be part of the fun!

Cul de Sac Swinging '66 will take place on Sunday, October 27—tickets go on sale August 1 at modernismweek.com.
