Comedy journalist Julie Seabaugh invited me out tonight with producer Troy Cashatt to see Beth Lapides, Guy Branum and Alec Mapa do a Conversation in Comedy for the Palm Springs Library earlier, then later Troy and I introduced Shanghai Red's famous fish tacos to Julie Seabaugh, Beth Lapides and Mitch Kaplan. Everyone loved the tacos! 😁👍 So good! It was good to see Guy again after he headlined my Palm Springs International Comedy Festival Comedy Club here in PS right before the pandemic. He won the Emmy this year for his writing on HBO Max's hit show 'Hack's.' Huge Congrats to Guy! 🎉👍 Also, good seeing Alec who did my Palm Springs International Comedy Festival during the pandemic. Still can't believe we did a whole 8 day festival online during the pandemic. Crazy! And Alec was absolutely F'ing HILARIOUS, which is not easy, doing stand-up on Zoom. He killed it! As did Guy when he Headlined here for me, so it was great seeing them again. They're both hilarious as is Beth Lapides who does 'UnCabaret,' (looking forward to seeing her solo show next month) and Mitch Kaplan, whose also does UnCabaret and is also Sandra Bernhard's musical director. His life in music I find so fascinating. So all around a fun night out having a few laughs and tacos in Palm Springs. Alumni Reunion.
