Palm Springs Friends of Philharmonic Announces Expanded Summer Music Camp Grants And College Scholarships
Palm Springs Friends of Philharmonic (PS Phil) has opened its 2026 application cycle for Summer Music Camp grants and College Scholarships, providing vital support to aspiring young musicians throughout the Coachella Valley. Applications are now being accepted through May 31, 2026.
This year, the PS Phil Board of Directors has allocated more than $40,000 in funding, marking a $10,000 increase over last year’s record-breaking distribution—a clear reflection of the growing demand for music education support across the region.
Individual awards of up to $3,000 for summer camp grants will help students pursue intensive summer training programs and up to $5,000 per year (renewable for 4 years) to continue their academic studies in music at accredited colleges and universities worldwide.
“Providing opportunities for Coachella Valley youth to experience the transformative power of classical music is central to our mission,” said Sol Cera, Education Chair of PS Phil. “Through these scholarships, we aim to support students at every stage of their musical journey while continuing to expand access to this vital art form to become a meaningful part of their lives.”
Palm Springs Friends of Philharmonic is seeing a notable rise in both beginning musicians and students pursuing music at the collegiate level.
“We’re witnessing exciting growth—from young students just starting their musical path to more advanced applicants preparing for professional careers,” said Alyssa Burno, Education and Events Coordinator for PS Phil. “These scholarships play a critical role in helping them take the next step.”
