A vintage set of barstools__________
One incredible Tidus!

We received the request_____”Do you guys think you could re create one ☝🏼 more of my vintage barstools for me?”

Not in our typical repertoire, but we love challenges____And This Client!, so we took this on.

Leave it to Tidus to completely reverse engineer this. It has been a huge challenge and one we totally underestimated 😂_____but the lemonade that has been squeezed from this sweet process has us buzzing.

This project is completed, and you’ll get to see the final product in October…meanwhile we are working on some other inspirations derived from this adventure

Considering I am wearing my design hats 🎩 👒 🧢 for a few clients, it seems fitting we would just expand into artful furnishings as well. All made by hand right here in the desert 🌵

Clients projects are receiving the first prototypes but by January the gallery will have a new vibe and a different artfully curated experience 😊

I absolutely love to be brought in on the concept and build phase. Many of these projects take years to bring to fruition.

It takes a special relationship with all parties involved to stay in constant contact, getting through plans, building departments, and often associations approval for anything on the exterior…(which includes sculpture)

This one includes interior designer T Tuttle Interior Design to dream up this incredible space and everything involved in it. It has been a pleasure being included in some of his projects for over 15 years

We will be bringing you some images of the completed project including the art in a few more months.

Patience, perseverance, diligence, and maybe a little obsession on my part will bring the icing on the cake here soon.

The clouds through the picture window have perfect synergy with this painting.

The breath around the perimeter of the work exemplifies the spacial elements of this home.

Light and airy with punches of thick rich oil paint grab your attention as you walk through the space.

Its story begins at the entry and transfers through the entire space…this textured concrete wall. It’s an homage to Frank Loyd Wright and his intention to make subtle statements upon entry that carry through his residences to tell the whole story.

I remember seeing one of his architectural masterpieces in Montecito when I was a child. At that young impressionable age I was captivated by architecture, the messages, and the people who owned them.

Working with Barry Berkus and his clients over the years taught me that the architects vision is actually derived from art first and foremost, then the practicality of something than can actually be built emerges.

When I became involved with this project, I felt compelled to utilize some of my homages of my predecessors in this space. This one is of Helen Frankenthaler. Yes, she did a pour method, however, in this case we needed textural but with a minimal use of color. Many varying hues derived from one value. Then pops for interest and to provoke questions. The bonus was the light that emerges through the doorway of the office illuminating the thick impasto oil paint to make it come to life.

This client leaned in and trusted the overall vision…

The BIG news is that I am designing this entire home

Yup 👍🏼…I put my design hat back on for this one ☝🏼

Custom bespoke everything. All the furniture, lighting, art, textiles and finishes are going to be completely hand made and designed by yours truly

Well round out the finish in November on this, but in the meantime I’ll give sneaky peekaboo’s along the way

She spans over 15’ and stands proud at almost 6’ tall

This client requested textural abstraction of the feeling of landscape. Not too directional, but the “feeling”…then left the rest up to me

6 weeks and 37 tubes of oil paint, many melt downs and self doubt…then she began to emerge

She broke through the barriers of disbelief, and all of the old voices from my past spinning in my head. When she emerged I knew,

This was much more than a commission…this was a test.

This was a sacred process for me internally as well as the sheer magnitude. I suppose it needed to be this big for me to recognize my blind spot. The physical exhaustion and soreness in my muscles made walking an intentional practice in order to finish. This revealed an exercise needed in mindfulness thinking.

It is not important what the final version of her looks like. The disconnection between my clients pure faith in me and my own imposter syndrome is the most valuable pearl in this story

My “Superman” painting absolutely found its rightful owner months back
