I’ve been wanting to bring the ArtSeen365 community together for a while, and last Friday, June 12, we finally did at Locust Projects.
Thank you to everyone who joined us!
This evening was for the artists, curators, and art professionals who have been part of ArtSeen365’s exhibitions and projects, or whose projects we’ve been part of, over the past eight years. A way of saying thank you, and an opportunity to connect in person, share what we’re each working on, and be present with each other.
The evening included a group activity organized by Nathalie Alfonso, as a way to connect and learn about each other, and ten complimentary professional headshots by , won through a raffle that made the evening even more fun. There was also a video station by SCREEN PARTNERS where guests recorded short clips about their practices, or left a note of appreciation for the ArtSeen365 archive.
We spent the evening alongside Locust Projects’ current presentations: “A Bought Kingdom” by Johanna Strobel Johanna Strobel in the Project Room, and “Lost Shaker of Salt” by Kelly Breez and Patty Gone in the main gallery. Thank you to the Locust Projects team for receiving us so generously.
Grateful to Nathalie Alfonso and Edison Peñafiel for helping me ideate and organize this event; to and Rafael Nuñez of SCREEN PARTNERS for their hard work that night and for so many years of documenting the South Florida art community together with ArtSeen365; and to Logan Fazio Logan Fazio, who photographed the evening and has collaborated with us before.
Kerry Phillips Kerry Phillips, Regina Durante Jestrow - Artist, Karla Kantorovich Karla Kanto, Liene Bosquê, Lisu Vega, Juan Henriquez, Edison Peñafiel, and Nathalie Alfonso, you are an integral part of ArtSeen365’s journey and of my practice as an art professional.
We dearly missed Evelyn Polizer. But I know she was there in spirit, smiling at us.
It has been more than 8 years since I started ArtSeen365. My husband and kids are always part of the work, even when it isn’t visible, as well as Paula F, my operational right hand. ArtSeen365 would not be possible without them.
Here is to reaching 10 years and more!
