Hello beautiful people. Hope all is well and your staying cool. I came close to opening up a ceramic studio, offering classes, but backed out at the last minute. And instead I reconstructed my website with the help from Melina at Spot Light Graphic Design, Jupiter, FL. I also have a photographer scheduled to shoot some new work, but I can’t fire the new work yet, my kiln went down. A wire came undone and had a circuit arctic, or short circuit. Anyway, waiting for parts; I decide to do everything, new elements, relays, rewiring; I have almost 500 firings with the original elements and I have only replaced two relays out of the four.
I have Photography Workshops and Travel Photography Adventure Trips scheduled for September 11, if anybody needs work photographed and wants to get in on this photo shoot let me know. Also check out the new website, if you get a chance, please leave a review for Hatfieldstudio.com or jayhatfieldart.com both websites link to the same place. This will help me out on google. Check out the new, new work in progress, l also have a full kiln waiting to get bisque.

Hey all! If you haven’t been to Better Together at the Hatch 1121 Gallery, you need to go check it out this weekend. I think Gallery hours are only during the weekend so that has to be part of the plan, weekends. Four organizations in Palm Beach County coming together for one show, APBC, Ceramic League, WAS, Lake Worth Beach Artist, I think I got them all the organizations correct. Some incredible being shown both 2-D and 3-D, what variety what talent. I need to set a timer/reminder to take pictures when I go to these openings, so instead here is work from the last firing.

I have a question for you all. Do you think we can use another ceramic studio here in North Central Palm Beach County (PBG, Juno Beach)that offers beginning, intermediate and advanced classes, and a couple kids/teenagers classes, plus a membership that gives you 24hr access to the studio. What do you think?

Im a little late on posting results of the last firing, because I have already done another glaze firing. FYI I will be gallery sitting at the Hatch Gallery in Lake Worth tomorrow Saturday afternoon the last day to check out the Artist of Palm Beach County, VIP Show. Some incredible work there lots to see.

Here’s another piece and group photo from my firing last week. The group photo, with three forms, has a collaboration, in it, a Litongxing Zeng bruno_prints_ceramics thrown piece in it, the smaller beautifully throne vase is Bruno’s. Thanks again for coming and helping out. Good times!

I’m happy with the pallet I’ve created over the past month. I’ve got five solid glazes to play with for a long time. This past week I’ve been exploring the basic form i’ve been working with the past month or so. I’ve been pushing that form, literally pushing it in and out, looking for expression and gesture, thinking of the human figure. There is a 14 sec video of four of the forms I’m referring to.
I have a bisque cooking of six bottle/vases and ten drying.
These new forms will take on lids, handles and eventually spouts. Happy 4th and 250. There will be better leadership to come, stay strong, steady, resilient and respectful to those who respect you back. For those who are disrespectful and belligerent be prepared to be….

Hey ya’all, here is the first group photo. Looking forward to sharing the next batch, three good ones out of four. The new batch has a slightly tweaked glaze combination.
