It is home to the Palestine Community Theatre with shows running all four seasons of the year. The Historic Texas Theatre is one of the oldest and most beautiful theatres in East Texas, and the Crown Jewel of Historic Downtown Palestine. PCT's goal is to unite the community, support the arts, bring tourism to Downtown Palestine and preserve the history of the Texas.

The Enchanted Bookshop Musical Cast List!✨🪄📖

Thank you to everyone who auditioned. There is so much talent and it was so hard to choose. You all could have played multiple parts. It really was a hard choice, but I think we have a fabulous cast selected.

The main characters will have a read-thru this Sunday, May 17, 2026 at the theatre from 2:30 - 4:30. The ensemble will meet at the theatre Tuesday, May 19,2026 from 6:30 - 7:30 - may run to 8:00. Main characters will not be needed Tuesday. Schedules will be available and handed out at both meetings.

Olivia and I are both excited to be working with all of you this summer!!!! See you soon!

We are excited to announce the recipient of the John Morris - John Lamb Scholarship for the 2025-2026 Season! Applications for the 2026-2027 Season will open next Spring. Scholarships are awarded to Anderson and Houston County High School Seniors. Congratulations, Kailana!

Update regarding The Enchanted Bookshop Musical Auditions:

Due to all the wonderful talent the director has to choose from - Several individuals who auditioned for The Enchanted Bookshop Musical will be contacted for callbacks. Once callbacks are completed - the cast will be notified and the list posted on the Texas Theatre social media. For those receiving callbacks, you will be contacted on Monday and callbacks will be completed by Wednesday. We are grateful for your patience.

‼️An update from director, Sandy Webb, regarding today’s audition…

Thank you to all who tried out for The Enchanted Bookshop Musical. We were so lucky to have 52 plus people show up today. So many talented people from all over - I am blown away!!!! We will be posting the cast by Tuesday if not sooner.
