Palenville's Bicentennial Celebration will take place on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at the Rip Van Winkle Country Club. No Hidden Galleries or PAINT OUT this year but lots of family fun. The Bicentennial day begins with a Ragamuffin Parade at 11 am with costumed kids and adults marching to the Country Fair. There will be children's games, music, historical demos, a history of Palenville shuttle tour and more. At 6:30, the band ThunderRidge takes the stage and the day ends with fireworks.

Don't miss seeing the site at the old Swinging Bridge. "People of Palenville" has flags by Jill Skupin Burkholder in honor of Palenville's history and in anticipation for October's court decision clearing the path for its possible return. Thank you, Dan Souza for making this HGW site possible.

Wondering about the event this year? Several of our unusual gallery locations are either going through owner changes or other types of good upheaval. We are concentrating on the plein air event, the PAINT OUT, making it the biggest and best yet.
Next year the hidden galleries will be back in time to celebrate new sidewalks and Palenville's Bicentennial. This summer it's all about the PAINT!
