St Johns River Center

St Johns River Center The St. John’s River Center showcases the unique and varied ecosystems of the St. John’s River. John’s River as well as its unique history, culture, and commerce.

Visitors can participate in group tours or self-guided visits. Staff-led programs, offered by appointment, include topics on:

natural history of the area;
William Bartram’s travels in Palatka and Putnam County;
19th century Steamboat trade;
commerce and industry of the River;
types of wetlands and their importance; and
plants and Animals of the River
Field trip programs are available for public a

nd private schools, youth groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and home school groups. Reservations are required. Hours of Operation:
Tuesday: 11-4
Wednesday:11-4
Thursday: 11-4
Friday: 11-4

There's lots to see and do in downtown Palatka this evening. At the St. Johns River Center, we have a wonderful art exhibit holding its opening reception tonight from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. - special thanks to local legend Shirley Edwards for all her efforts in bringing this to the River Center.

Also, Summer Nights is back at the Riverfront.
