Before I ever called myself an artist, I have always capturing moments. My whole life. At least since I was old enough to work a camera.
Long before art journaling, canvases, and online art workshops.
I was always the girl with the camera. 📸
Before cameras were on our phones. (Quite honestly, before we had phones… at least ones without a curly cord attached)
I didn’t care about perfectly styled photos growing up. I cared about capturing moments. My friends, road trips, tiny pieces of life that I wanted to hold on to.
Then came scrapbooking with my mom and I started ‘collecting’, along with capturing. Which was my first version of remixing ephemera into stories.
Mixed media, art journaling , and the canvas found their ways into my heart. But I never put down the camera nor the sticky fingers when I was out and about.
Collecting and capturing the vibe of places I visit in in my blood. I can’t stop. I see everything with an artistic lens.
I don’t just see brick or a restaurant sign. I see texture, color, and font. I see art materials.
Which photo are you drawn to first? What does it make you notice, remember, or inspire?
