A 2018 throwback for day 1 of ‘s January creative prompts (“cactus with personality”). This was my first mural that I painted just because I wanted to and missed the desert in our tiny condo in DC. Hoping to be more regular but still intentional about the direction of this little art account and biz and appreciate the prompts!

Trying a different format this year! I present 2026 [your word of the year] bingo. I tend to choose a personal word, art biz word and family word and so far I’ve just got the family word, which will actually be a phrase. did an episode of “joy snacks” a while back and I’ve loved that concept ever since. So we’re going to make a family 2026 “joy snack” bingo tomorrow to add (or maybe just take time to notice existing) little snacks of joy throughout the next year. Would love to hear your words or themes for next year if you have them!

Spent my Sunday studio time today working on these two keepsake pairs—one for me and one for C’s second birthday. So sweet (and so painstaking to paint tiny details😮‍💨).

My pregnant daydreams of painting with my son all the time are coming true 🥹

Painting with my little guy just got a big upgrade thanks to ($8!!!) We are both excited for outdoor paint sessions any time.

I have been collecting toddler painting supplies over time to be ready to set this up so we did a test run yesterday and he was having a blast (including using the spray bottle to clean up). Will share the full set up when it’s ready!

Sunday morning creative time with C. It was very messy and very sweet and fun. Used taste safe finger paints I bought from and paint sticks on a brown paper roll. Grateful to be able to get messy with my little one.

H is for Hiking. This one took what felt like forever but I finished it appropriately the day of our first hike in a while, up on Mt Lemmon. Slowly adding to C’s Tucson alphabet.

The best Dada we could ever ask for. Seeing you blossom as a Dad and knowing Colin will grow up with the kindest, smartest, most tender and strong Dad (who he already has learned knows how to fix anything!) as a role model makes my heart burst.

From $12 rug pad to diy felt panel for the playroom. I’ve had this idea in my brain for a while and finally put it together with a clearance felt rug pad from and felt color pack from .

Definitely on the mama is more excited than C right now spectrum , but he had a lot of fun sticking all the stars on the panel and dancing to Mr. Sun while he stuck the sun’s rays on. I’m excited to make a lot more felt shapes, plants and animals for him to play with as he grows.

Currently hanging next to his growing Tucson alphabet in very very very slowly illustrating .😂

ps for any local Tucson baby parents basically all of his toys are from either or love having so many local places to source his toys, new and secondhand 😍

New to my “daydreams of contact naps” series in time for Mother’s Day with a title inspired by my favorite book, Mrs. Dalloway,

“these moments of rest together; life; Tucson; this moment in May.”

Celebrating these fleeting moments of nurturing and snuggles with my growing babe. Embracing all the nurturing after reading ‘s Nurture Revolution and it has felt so good to my growing mama brain and has deepened our bond so much. I am trying to savor all the sweetness in these days I’ve waited so long for (while also remembering that the hard and exhausting moments too pass quickly).

I saw a cloud the other day that looked like an abstract line drawing and it sparked this idea to start turning some of my cuddle line drawings into little floating day dreams, layered on top of photos I’ve taken in different Southwest deserts.

Maybe they’ll be paintings one day but for now a little floating finger cuddle and a nursing cuddle with C’s new lovey Huggie Bear.
