Bazaar prep time! Ever wonder when you find those cute metal molds??? - wonder no more! Here’s a boxed set of aluminum gelatin molds. How cute. Milk glass nursery jars, gorgeous, heavy glass platter in a great green, PBN The Last Supper, Maltese Cross medal, holy medals, holy cards, religious pamphlets, HOLY COW - Holt Howard Santa Shakers. The plaid horse I picked up at the thrift store afterwards…🤦🏻‍♀️ it’s all for sale, except the green glass platter. That’s already off to a new home!

It was a gorgeous day for a drive! Meeting up with Wendy to take some more juvenile and youth oriented books off of her hands, for our little free Library down in Woodstock. York is halfway for both of us. So we met at the house and then went on an adventure. We ate lunch at Brown’s Orchard. Tried fitting into Lowly Worm’s, apple car, bought 25 pounds of strawberries. Then we moved on to Grey Beards Antiques. Smokey the Bear came home with me. The patchwork skirt is just a reminder that I need to make one for myself, and Mr. Machine was a video I took for my brother. We both remember him from Christmases many years ago. I’ll spend the night, and then guess what?? It’s bowling alley time!!! I’ll go in tomorrow morning and see what the donation gods have left for me and the Attic Treasurers department.

All things plaid! There are more plaid goodies hiding upstairs, but that’s for another day. Scotch tape was probably my favorite toy as a kid. My mom would buy me a new roll at the store almost every week. Can you imagine if washi tape had been around then? I would’ve lost my mind! Needless to say the Scotch Tape tins get all kinds of love from me! Plaid shoes from - they’ll get used in a future project, Scotch Tape box from Scotch Tape tin from tiny Skotch Kooler from

What did I buy at the flea market, yesterday? Not much. But most of it was from Carol.😂 The doughnut queen had to have a Vintage donut maker, correct? Some fun pink pom-poms for crafting, two hanky’s, some cute Easter figurines actually made in York, Pennsylvania my hometown, and some fabulous, vintage plastic poppies. Also from Carol, those amazing canvas bank money bags. From another seller, I purchased the black cat Ring a Tail game and the slightly melty, but wonderful box of Crayola crayons.

Max Krumpe was very gracious in my request to be able to stop by early before their normal opening time at 7 PM. I had been hoping that because it was National Donut Day - that they would’ve been opened all day, like they do on Fashnacht Day. But they weren’t. However, I was invited to stop by anytime in the later afternoon, and they would at least have cake donuts to start. I purchased a dozen cake donuts, half cinnamon sugar, half glazed, as well as their June Donut of the Month, Strawberry Shortcake. Their donuts are delicious, but I will have to say that Strawberry Shortcake doughnut was out of this world. Thanks, Max!!

Valley Girls Book Club read for May. James by Percival Everett. It makes me want to read Huckleberry Finn again. An interesting take on the story shown through Jim’s eyes - Much like Beowulf and Grendel. My issue with the book was the idea of code talking between the enslaved. It goes on the assumption that all enslaved Black people could understand one another. Which is not true. Harriet Tubman, who grew up in Maryland had a difficult time understanding the Gullah Geechee in South Carolina. Blacks from all over Africa were enslaved & brought to North America, and they all had their own dialects, their own language. To gloss over the fact that they could easily understand one another is bothersome. It was enjoyable, so if you’re just reading it for a different perspective on Huckleberry Finn - have fun.
