Last week, we shared #10 through #6. This week, we’re finishing our countdown with the Top 5 things to remember when planning a once-in-a-lifetime event.

And you’ll notice—the closer we get to #1, the less these are about planning and the more they’re about enjoying the moment.

Treat the people helping you well. Enjoy the process. Dance. Smile.

And most importantly... be present.

Take a moment during your celebration to stop and look around the room. Spend time with your parents, grandparents and older relatives. Take the picture. Have the conversation. Share the dance.

Someday, those may be the moments you treasure most.

You’ll never regret the time you spent with them. ❤️

🎧 Guess who’s back behind the DJ booth?

Our founder, Sue Doyle, came out of DJ retirement today to bring the music and fun to an event in Dracut, MA—and she hasn’t missed a beat!

Some things you just never forget. Welcome back, DJette Sue! 🎶🙌

Some of the best event advice has nothing to do with décor, playlists or timelines.

After 40+ years and thousands of events, we’ve learned that the things people remember most are often the simplest.

So for this week’s Tuesday Tip, we’re counting down 10 things to remember when planning a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Here are #10 through #6.

Some are practical. Some are about perspective. And a few are things we wish every client knew before the big day.

Save this one if you’re planning something special — and come back next Tuesday for our Top 5.

Which one resonates most with you?

Does your entertainment company have a backup plan?

Equipment can fail. Traffic happens. People get sick. Emergencies arise. A professional entertainment company doesn’t just hope everything goes right—they prepare for the unexpected.

Before booking, ask about backup equipment, emergency support, delivery assistance, and qualified backup staff. Your celebration shouldn’t skip a beat.

At Denon & Doyle, the show must always go on.

🎄 Planning a corporate holiday party? Now is the time to start.

The best venues, entertainment, and interactive experiences can book months in advance—especially for November and December.

This week’s Tuesday Tips:

1️⃣ Lock in what matters most early.More options, less stress, and a better chance of getting exactly what you want.

2️⃣ Think beyond dinner.Great food matters, but your employees will remember the entertainment, interactive experiences, photo opportunities, and packed dance floor.

3️⃣ Plan the flow.A strong timeline keeps the energy moving from cocktails to dinner, awards, and an unforgettable celebration.

💡 Pro Tip: Don’t overlook January! Post-holiday dates often offer greater venue and vendor availability—and can make the entire planning process easier.

Starting to plan your company’s holiday celebration? Denon & Doyle would be happy to share ideas and help you create an event your team talks about all year long.

📩 Let’s start planning.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Another 5-Star Yelp Review!

Nothing means more to us than hearing that an experience brought people together.

We recently had the opportunity to create an Interactive DJ Experience for a corporate team, and reading feedback like this reminds us why we love what we do.

“The team was thoughtful, organized, and brought such great energy... It was refreshing to have an experience that allowed people to simply connect through music, laugh, and enjoy themselves.”

To Sarah and your entire team—thank you for trusting us and for taking the time to share your experience. It was a pleasure working with you, and we’re excited for the opportunity to do it again!

Whether it’s a corporate event, wedding, mitzvah, school event, or private celebration, our goal is always the same:
Create experiences that bring people together.

Thank you for the incredible review. ❤️

What happens when team building meets the DJ booth? 🎧

We recently partnered with Caspian Agency to create an interactive corporate team-building experience for Omidyar Network.

Over 90 music-filled minutes, guests moved through hands-on DJ instruction, music trivia, collaborative challenges and plenty of laughter—ending with teams sharing their own mixes.

One piece of feedback especially stayed with us: team events can sometimes make people feel pressured to jump straight into networking or vulnerable conversations. This experience gave guests another way to connect—through music, shared laughter and simply having fun together.

The result? Fantastic participation, great energy and a group that stayed engaged through the final mix.

A huge thank-you to Caspian Agency for bringing us in, to Omidyar Network for embracing the experience, and to Brian, Michael and the entire Denon & Doyle team for making it happen.

Looking for a team-building experience that feels natural, inclusive and genuinely fun? Let’s mix something up.

🎶 Music trivia and interactive challenges🎛️ Hands-on DJ instruction🤝 Teamwork through shared experiences🎉 A memorable alternative to the traditional corporate mixer

🎧 DJ vs. MC — what’s the difference, and do you really need both?

The DJ creates the soundtrack. The MC leads the room.

A DJ reads the crowd, mixes the music and keeps the soundtrack moving. An MC communicates with guests, manages transitions and helps create the energy and flow of the celebration.

Can one person handle both roles? Absolutely. But when dancing, interaction and energy are priorities, having dedicated people in each role can make a huge difference.

Tuesday Tip: When comparing entertainment companies, don’t just ask, “Who’s the DJ?”

Ask: “Who’s leading my party?” 🎤

Dancing a high priority for your event? 💃🕺

A packed dance floor doesn’t happen by accident. The energy starts with you, is influenced by the space you choose, and can completely change based on how the room is laid out.

Here are 3 things we see make a BIG difference at events time and time again.

Save this one if dancing is high on your priority list. 👆

🎤 Tuesday Tip: Not all microphones are created equal.

One of the most common requests we receive is for a wireless lapel microphone because it’s hands-free. While lapel mics certainly have their place, they’re often not the best choice for wedding ceremonies, Bar & Bat Mitzvah services, keynote presentations, or charity auctions.

Because a lapel microphone sits farther from your mouth, it requires more gain to achieve the same volume—which can increase background noise, clothing rustle, wind noise, and the risk of feedback.

In many situations, a wireless handheld microphone on a stand provides clearer, more natural sound and ensures every guest can hear every important word.

Our goal is simple:
Whether you’re exchanging vows, reading from the Torah, delivering a keynote, or inspiring generosity at a fundraising auction, every guest deserves to hear every moment clearly.
