Sleeping in increments of a few hours I guess, it's a little after 4am, I'm on the front porch drinking cold coffee, not cold brew, just cold coffee!

Taking in the magnitude of what the hell was that hurricane yesterday! It was brutal, the winds were more intense than Sally was for sure. We're waiting for daylight to see the damage it left behind, I'm ever so thankful we cut the dangerous trees down we did, otherwise one of them would be on our house I'm sure.

Several of my friends. The storm scared the hell out of them and they've been through their share. That's how I know it was more intense than we thought it would be. And it didn't matter which side of it you were on. It was brutal and we were on the west side of it but we were also supposed to take a direct hit but it had moved over to Destin for that but it was ugly just the same.

My message to my locals to my friends. It's over and we're safe. The wind is quiet. The air is quiet. The noise level has ceased. When daylight breaks just take it all in. It will be bad, it might even be catastrophic in some places.
There's trees down everywhere, power lines in the roads and the area that we call home will need some cleanup to get her looking like she did the day before the storm. Be safe my friends and try really hard not to let your anxiety ramp up as we get our lives back to normal however long that takes. Love you guys.
