The Prairie Victorian

The Prairie Victorian Built in 1874, The Prairie Victorian is actively being restored. It spent its first 104 years as the Messner & Sons general store.

Follow along as restoration updates are posted and shared as we work toward opening as a public event venue in Oxford, IN.

One of the neatest recent acquisitions are these stunning wooden theater seats, from our good friend at Brookston Antiques! These came in sets of 4 and 5 seats, so we could mix and match to get them to nest perfectly between the chimneys along the south wall. These originally came out of a theater in Logansport, IN and have now found their second home with us. πŸ™‚

Nothing makes my heart happier than seeing the building used to make memories. πŸ’“
After a last minute connection brought the sweetest women to The Prairie Victorian (after another venue double booked them...and told them 48 hours before the big day 😬), the building turned into a bridal shower for the day!
Congratulations to Annabelle, the beautiful bride-to-be. We are so glad we got to celebrate with you! πŸ₯³
Special thanks to mom Meredith for letting us share some photos from the shower. I still can't get over how beautiful they made the space with their design and touches! DIY flower and dirty soda bar? Yes PLEASE. 😍

The window display from the Seeds & Sunflowers dinner! Thanks again to Sharon and Dean for their generous use of the wagon, it has quickly become a staple in the window. 😁 It was the perfect flower display!
Sign is kraft paper and Cricut-cut letters backed with foam insulation (Ya use what you've got, right?) plus some paper Sunflowers. 🌻

Couldn't ask for a better person to rehab an old general store with. Even when the maintenence and restoration fairies go on strike, so we have a sleepover at the building. Almost. πŸ˜† 3:49AM and done for the "night". Back in a few hours for the final stretch!
But let's just say....we have a few projects checked off with pretty nice "wow" factor. Stay tuned to see what those are... 🌻 πŸ“·

From us to you - Merry Christmas! These photos are from a few weeks ago during Christmas on the Oxford Town Square.

We have so much to be grateful for this year and one of the biggest reasons is the love and support of the Oxford community and beyond. Thank you to each and every one of you who have cheered us on throughout this year and made this project so special. ❀️
Here's to more fun and adventures (and renovations) in 2026!
