UM Opera Theatre - Ole Miss UM Opera Theatre provides comprehensive training for the next generation of singing-actors ! Ford Performing Arts Center in 2003.

The nationally recognized Ole Miss Opera Theatre provides the opportunity for skill development in music, drama, movement, and design specifically related to opera performance. Fully staged productions include scenes and chamber opera each Fall and a full-length opera with orchestra each Spring. The Opera Theatre’s production of The Magic Flute was the first opera to be performed in the Gertrude C

Faculty Feature Friday––Dr. Bonita Bunt, Director of Opera

Dr. Bunt is a NATIONAL FINALIST for The American Prize in Directing—The Charles Nelson Reilly Prize, 2026, college/university (smaller program) for UM Opera Theatre's 2023 production of Alcina by G.F. Händel.
