One year ago today, on 8/9/25, we dedicated to the City of Urbana…a 1,380 sq ft public artwork celebrating the people and spirit of our community.

Over the past year, it’s been incredible to watch it bring people together. I’m grateful to have played a small role in creating something that has become part of Urbana’s story.

As a muralist, not every design gets the chance to make it to the wall. While this one was not selected for Marysville, I’m still incredibly proud of everything I poured into it.

This was my mural concept for Main Street Marysville. A colorful, layered reflection of community pride, local history, and the identity of Union County. Inspired by the vision to enhance Uptown Marysville, celebrate its sense of place, and create a meaningful public art landmark, I wanted the design to feel both rooted and forward-facing.

Coming off The Urbana Mural, which is now turning one year old, I had hoped this project might become the next chapter in a larger series of community-centered murals across Ohio. That dream did not move forward in Marysville.

Even when a design is not chosen, the work and care behind it do not disappear. Proud of this one, proud of what it could have been, and still hopeful for the next wall that’s ready for Studio Roo.
