SADLY, the Kids and Curwood Parade has been canceled due to weather. This marks the first time in more than 20 years that the kids parade has been canceled. 😭
Due to Curwood volunteer availability and scheduling limitations, Curwood Festival has decided not to reschedule the Kids and Curwood Parade this year.
We are hopeful that the weather cooperates tomorrow and would love for all of our dancers to join us in the Heritage Parade! The Heritage Parade begins at 2:00 PM, with lineup starting at 1:30 PM. Line up begins on the corner of Dewy St. (Hardee's) and Main St. (M-21). We are parade entry #22. Just find a curwood offical and ask where ADS is located! Parade pickup will be immediately after ADS has finished the route, at the Shell Gas Station on the corner of Chipman St. and Main St. (M-21).
All dancers are welcome to participate! Dancers under the age of 10 must have a parent present and available during the parade. Please keep in mind that this is a long parade route and can be very HOT, so we ask that a parent be available in case a dancer is unable to complete the route.
It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the cancellation of the Kids in Curwood Country Parade 2026 due to weather conditions.
We know this news is incredibly disappointing. We share that disappointment, especially for the many children who were excited to participate and the families who were looking forward to celebrating this beloved Curwood tradition.
Unfortunately, we are also unable to move the parade to Sunday. The Curwood Festival is powered entirely by volunteers, and after careful consideration, we simply do not have the manpower needed to safely organize and operate the parade on an alternate day.
Our volunteers have already dedicated countless hours planning, organizing, and preparing for this event. They work tirelessly behind the scenes throughout the year and throughout festival weekend to make these traditions possible for our community. We are deeply grateful for their commitment, hard work, and love for Curwood.
While we are saddened that the parade cannot take place this year, the safety of our participants, spectators, and volunteers must come first.
Thank you for your understanding, your support, and for continuing to support the volunteers who make the Curwood Festival possible. ❤️🤍❤️
