๐ต *The Quiet Way* ๐ต
One of the greatest honors of Matt Gray's musical career came this year when he was invited to compose an original work for the Diocese of Owensboro's celebration of the Jubilee of St. Francis of Assisi.
Debuting at the 2026 Chrism Mass, *The Quiet Way* reflects the life, humility, and profound conversion of St. Francis. After researching the saint's life and spending time in prayer and reflection, Matt was inspired to write a song that speaks not only about St. Francis, but about the call each of us has to ongoing conversion.
The song reminds us that true strength is often found in humility, service, and trust in God's will. In a world filled with noise, division, fear, and uncertainty, St. Francis chose a different pathโa quiet way that transformed countless lives and continues to inspire us 800 years later.
As Matt shared, the goal was simple: to create a melody people could sing, remember, and carry with them long after the final note faded.
A special thank you to **Lauren Calhoun** for lending her incredible voice to this recording. Lauren's heartfelt vocals beautifully captured the spirit and message of the song, helping bring *The Quiet Way* to life in a truly meaningful way.
We're also excited to announce that *The Quiet Way* will soon be available on all major streaming platforms, allowing even more people to experience its message of peace, humility, service, and love.
May we all strive to let our actions speak louder than our words, to seek peace in times of conflict, and to allow Christ's love to shine through our daily lives.
**The Quiet Way**
*Peace in a time of war*
*Healing in a time of ill*
*Hope in a time of division*
*Love in a time of pain*
*Poverty in a time of greed*
*Humility in a time of power*
*Trust in a time of fear;*
*Let my life reflect the love of Christ.*
**Verse 1**
Let my works be known before my words
Let my heart move before my mouth
Let my hands reach out beyond myself
Let my feet walk only to You, O my God.
**Verse 2**
Lord, help me live this day
In the stillness of Your peace,
So that I may lean on Your strength,
And trust the unfolding of Your will, for me.
**Bridge**
If my words should fail:
Let my actions preach the Gospel, the ways of Jesus.
**Verse 3**
When my time on Earth has ended,
I take nothing I have received;
But only that which You have given
A heart enriched with service and love.
