Scribbles & Strokes A place to buy and make art Sondra Johnson is a graduate of Daviess County High School where she focused on visual arts. She also minored in art education.

She attended Owensboro Community College and majored in studio art. At Brescia University she earned her degree in graphic design and studio art. After graduating from Brescia she worked locally as a graphic artist. She returned to school to study education and earned her second degree from Brescia University with a double major earning her certification to teach elementary K-5 and Special Educati

on K-12. After college she taught art for a year and a half for the Daviess County Public School System at the elementary level. She then worked as a special education and art teacher at Beacon High School. Then she taught 7th and 8th grade special education at Union County Middle School. She is currently teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade special education at Owensboro Middle School. She also designs the yearbook and occasionally teaches after school art classes. After earning her Masters in Teaching in the area of art education she considered switching paths to become an art teacher, however her love for teaching students to read kept her with OMS. Scribbles and Strokes has been a dream of Sondra's to teach art to all ages, while still working as a special education teacher full time. Sondra offers private art lessons, small group art sessions and classes, and summer art day camps in the evenings, on the weekends and during the summer.
