Blink 182 - E***a Of The State

This is one of those nostalgic albums for me. My grandad would always pick me up on Saturday mornings and take me to garage sales, auctions and flea markets. Anyone who knew him, can vouch for his love for these things. 😂

A very vivid memory of this, I bought this album in Greenville from a stand at a flea market. It was a burned copy with a printed single piece of paper for the album cover in the cd case. $5 was a steal for this album by the way. I still have my punk rock moods all the time(thank you Tony Hawk Pro Skater, IYKYK). “What’s My Age Again?”, “Adam’s Song” and “All The Small Things” are all instant classics.

More than how much I love this album, I smile and laugh thinking about all that time I spent with my grandad on all of those Saturday mornings. I miss them so much, and this album takes me right back there.

Drake - So Far Gone

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I like R&B Drake. And this album has some of his best work in that realm. I still play it all the way through when I listen to it. It’s hard to ever leave an album out of this weekly series that I can listen to all the way through without skipping. Plus you get Wayne and Bun B features. So that’s a win for me. Still my personal favorite body of work Drake has done.

50 Cent - Get Rich or Die Tryin’

I’m so glad this album came out my sophomore year of high school. If you weren’t old enough at the time of its release, it’s hard to understand the hype it brought to music at the time. It is still a front to back listen, and it put hip hop on notice that 50 was here to stay. Every song is a banger. When I finally got my system in my Explorer, Get Rich or Die Tryin’ wore my subs out. If you were going for a ride in that Explorer, you knew it was going to rattle your brain. And I wasn’t going to turn it down for anybody. 😂 Maybe why I still like loud music. Top 5 hip hop album of all time for me.
