Some of you know I sold my building and bought a house nearby. In doing so I made some choices about what pieces to bring to my new attic studio. These pieces are showing up Mapes Auction Gallery. Two really special pieces are available for bidding- American Pickers on The History Channel passed these up when Mike was here- but you don't have to!
This is an antique fire door that was on the 3rd floor of the old Hand of Man building. Look at what is written on it and you will understand why I had to get a grinder to get off the wall to see what was behind it (nothing!). I used it in my studio as a space divider, talisman, and conversation piece.

The other is piece I had coveted forever and got at a local auction. I stored a bunch of my findings in it- including dental paraphernalia, antique hardware and antlers and horns. You might find some somethings still in there!

So pleased to be part of "Everyday Life, Every Day Art" Regional Art show by Tioga County Arts Council. A record number of submissions and this goose got in (along with another of my creations). Such a variety of art- the space just vibrates all the feelings. So good to see artworks everywhere and to chat with artist friends and family!

When I have umpteen things to do, I get a creative jag going that I can't ignore. This piece fell out of my head and is now in process for a show in August with my friend Carrie Dru Tornatore- "Revenants, Remnants and Revelations". I do my best creative work on a deadline with competing priorities- like packing up to move! Will keep you posted on progress.
