I've warmed up many different ways before a good art session, but one of my favorites is just choosing some colors and seeing what I can come up with without really caring what it looks like.

I've held onto this old warmup because it was a lot of fun to do - and I love the fantastical landscape that it turned out to be.

For , I thought I'd share one of my recent(ish) pieces titled 'My Future.'

This was commissioned by my good friend Lexi, who wanted something to commemorate her graduation from UCF. Using a Billie Eilish illustration (and song) as reference for what she wanted, this was was what came out of it!

It was such fun to incorporate all the little details of things that make her who she is: the elephant ears, the dramatic sunset, her outfit, her pet rat Napoleon, her childhood stuffed animal, and two dragonflies, representing two of her best friends whose lives were far too short.

It was an honor to do this piece, and I'm pretty pleased with the result! Lesson learned, though: try not to hand-draw fishnets if you can avoid it.
