Ovid Strawberry Festival

Ovid Strawberry Festival Dedicated to the happenings surrounding the Ovid Strawberry Festival. The Strawberry Festival in Ovid started as an Ice Cream Social in the park, in 1985.

It took place during the strawberry season, as this was the first harvest of the year by the Native Americans who lived on the shores of the Finger Lakes, before us. Through the 35 years, it has evolved into a huge community event. Many community groups work together to have this day be the biggest event of the year. The school, churches, youth groups, Historical society, Friends of the Three Bear

s, Firemen, Ambulance Corps, Library, village businesses, 4-Town Youth Center, community theater group, Lion's Club, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Ladies Aux. of the Sons of Union Veterans, and many more, come together to make this a big family day in Ovid! The event is FREE! Come, bring your lawn chairs, and spend the day!!

The Strawberry Festival Bake Off is back with an all new SAVORY category for the 40th Annual Ovid Strawberry Festival on June 13th! Contact Deb Bush at 607-227-899three or debber@ rochester.rr.com to register.
🍓 Entries need to have strawberries in them, they will be judged on creativity, use of strawberries, appearance, and taste.
🍓 Entry needs to be at Bake Off Table before 1:00 P.M. (Judging starts at 1:30 P.M.)

It's no joke, the Ovid Strawberry Festival 5K aka "The Berry Fun Run" is back! Sponsored by STEPS (Seneca Towns Engaging People for Solutions) the race is a small community event that starts and finishes at the Ovid Fire Hall in the Village of Ovid. An easy out and back course along the back roads of the Village of Ovid. The race starts at 8 am and bibs can be picked up starting at 7:00am that same morning. There will be water and Gatorade at the race and post-race refreshments. Join us for a fun morning, followed by the parade and super-fun activities for the whole family. The race entry fee is $20 for ages 15 and older and $10 for youths 14 and younger free as long as they are accompanied by a registered adult participant on the course. https://www.webscorer.com/register?raceid=420929

All participants will receive a finisher's medal and Strawberry-shaped cookie. Prizes will be given to the top male and female in each age group: 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.

Parking: on the streets and in the parking lot behind the Finger Lakes Community Health Center, next to the park that is beside the Fire Hall. Additional Parking at the Ovid Federated Church on Main St. Please do not park on the Fire Hall side.

Walk or Run, bring the family and join up with friends and then stay for the Festival.

A message from the Strawberry Festival Committee Chair -
"The term 'Ovid Strong' has been used frequently since the block fire in Ovid on Jan. 21st. 2025.

The 39th 39th Annual Ovid Strawberry Festival certainly did represent how Ovid has come back stronger than ever! It was a fantastic day in every way!

Thank you to everyone in the South Seneca Community for helping in whatever way you did! It took the Strawberry Festival Committee and everyone who participated to make it the Best Day Ever!

Once again the little mouse helped the other one carry that big strawberry, and represented Ovid Strong!
