Ovid Strawberry Festival

Ovid Strawberry Festival Dedicated to the happenings surrounding the Ovid Strawberry Festival. The Strawberry Festival in Ovid started as an Ice Cream Social in the park, in 1985.

It took place during the strawberry season, as this was the first harvest of the year by the Native Americans who lived on the shores of the Finger Lakes, before us. Through the 35 years, it has evolved into a huge community event. Many community groups work together to have this day be the biggest event of the year. The school, churches, youth groups, Historical society, Friends of the Three Bear

s, Firemen, Ambulance Corps, Library, village businesses, 4-Town Youth Center, community theater group, Lion's Club, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Ladies Aux. of the Sons of Union Veterans, and many more, come together to make this a big family day in Ovid! The event is FREE! Come, bring your lawn chairs, and spend the day!!

WOW OVID, and Southern Seneca County! The fireworks would not have been possible without The Pumpkin Stand, and a lot of hard work by Thomas Smalser.

Huge THANK YOU to the Lodi Fire Department for the traffic direction and control, allowing everyone to have a good, safe time!

Mostly, THANK YOU to all of you who showed up!

We'll see some of you in 6 hours, (at 7am) when the Ovid Strawberry Festival officially kicks off!

We extend our sincere appreciation to Thomas Smalser for his exceptional efforts. He was instrumental in organizing this community celebration of the 40th Annual Ovid Strawberry Festival, successfully securing grant funding and garnering essential support from the Town Board.

The community collectively expresses gratitude to all volunteers and American Fireworks Co. for their outstanding display this evening.

We look forward to seeing everyone to the festival tomorrow!

🍓 Easy to see and use schedule for all your Strawberry heart desires at the Ovid Strawberry Festival, June 13th. 🍓

Pancake Breakfast at Church and Strawberry Dessert Booth in Village Park by Ovid Federated Church.

Witches of the Water's Edge will be performing after the parade on the blacktop between the Village Park and Firehouse

Edith B Ford Memorial Library, Ovid will have lots at the Library.

Ovid Fire Department, Ovid NY will be back this year with their festival food after the parade, and Hollow Creek will have their chicken BBQ on Main St after the parade.

STEPS Project will have their Wellness Corner in the firehouse Community Room, as well as some Community Services inside the firehouse and throughout the Park. We're also looking forward to United Way of Seneca County, Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension, and Seneca County Health Department joining us.

Don't forget the Talent Show after the school group performances in the village pavilion. And there's sooooo much more! 🌟

⚠️ REMINDER ⚠️ On Saturday June 13th we request no parking on Main Street from Community Bank/ Hearth & Harvest to Brown Street until 11:30am. This is for the safety and enjoyment of all attending the parade.

Parking is available along the sides of East & West Seneca Streets, Holy Cross parking lot, the former Big M parking lot, Community Bank, CarQuest, and Ovid Federated Church parking lots. Some of these parking locations will not be accessible after 9:55am due to Main Street road closure.
