Last night’s Weave and Breathe Workshop at the Central Resource Library of Johnson County was filled with creative thinkers and willing souls. It was fun and fulfilling to pass along two aspects of my life that give me peace and patience.

There is a calling within me that drives me to continue creating this Passage Series of Wallhangings. Not unlike a narrow doorway, each “Passage” weaving is a representation of the ability to move from one frame of to another.
Embracing the metaphysical properties found in color; each piece is a visual reminder which may entice you toward what you seek.

This “Passage Series” of 15 one-of-kind intuitive weavings is now on exhibit at the Central Resource Library and each available for purchase.

Intuitive Weaving Exhibition Now Showing at the Johnson County Central Library. Come and ponder my new weavings.

Passage Series: Not unlike a narrow doorway, each “Passage” weaving is a representation of the ability to move from one frame of mind to another.
Embracing the metaphysical properties found in color; each weaving is a visual reminder to entice you toward what you seek.

Chronicle Series: Each “Chronicle” weaving is a visual narrative of a particular subject - created in an order by which it might pass through time.
A woven recording of each whispered story; influenced by the intentions of the weaver and the response of the viewers.

This table holds my materials for the weaving I’m currently working on.
Comb replaces a be**er.
Chopstick replaces a shuttle.
Unraveled sweater threads for the weft.
Sticks for texture and support.
Broken necklace beads for accents.
Scissors and snips to cut whatever needs it.

My tools may be unconventional. My materials of choice are repurposed goods. My artistic spark is to give purpose to items discarded, provide a continuous value to their being what they are. With no expectation or comparisons.

As an intuitive weaver, I select materials first and let my hands guide them into what they are meant to be. A meditation in motion.






Living with this piece for a while will help its title surface. Woven with recycled materials and lots of introspection....
