Shawnee Mission South Theatre Director, Mark Swezey smiles with residents of Life Centers of Kansas Group Home. He delivered food and drink props from their recent production of “The Boys Next Door” on behalf of his students who wanted to further embrace the themes of the production:
the importance of human connection, caregiving, the power of acceptance and understanding and building community.

An Early Merry Christmas present was given to Shawnee Mission South Theatre Department!
South’s Theatre production of SIX, The Teen Edition has been invited to perform on Mainstage, at the KS. State Thespian Festival, at Century II, in Wichita, on Friday night, January 10!
The show was adjudicated and awarded one of the top evaluations in the State. Congratulations Shawnee Mission South Theatre!!!

Our Theatre Season at Shawnee Mission South is well underway!
Our one act plays open September 26th and our 1st musical, SIX, the teen version opens October 26th.
This Season is exciting and full of great fun!
From the high energy musical SIX to Improv. Nights to Disney’s The Little Mermaid to the second semester’s plays, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged and The Boys Next Door - this season is special.
We rely on fundraising to make our Season of productions successful.
