Kansas School of Classical Ballet

Kansas School of Classical Ballet Serious dance training in downtown Overland Park since 2011. Classical ballet and contemporary — one school, one classical foundation, every path.

Now enrolling for the 2025–26 season. Placement auditions July 19th. Nonprofit 501(c)(3). Our goal is to provide serious training, levels pre-ballet through advanced (ages 3 and up), sufficient to enable our students to pursue careers as professional dancers. Whether our students study this art form as a career option or for their personal satisfaction and enjoyment, they all gain self-discipline,

poise and grace that will benefit them throughout their lives. As certified trainers in Pilates and Gyrotonic® exercise systems, we incorporate body conditioning for strength, flexibility, coordination and injury prevention for students at all levels. These enhancements of our students’ skills increase their ability to learn to dance. In addition, our school promises to:

--Evaluate prospective students through a placement audition to determine level.
--Follow a structured curriculum and class syllabus.
--Maintain a professional atmosphere at all levels.
--Offer a scholarship program.
--Provide access to a physician if necessary for possible injuries.
-- Expose students to the entire Classical Ballet Repertoire. Our curriculum includes classical ballet training and will be augmented by master classes in modern, jazz, flamenco and character. Community outreach:
In addition to teaching in our studio, we plan to visit schools in the metropolitan area to provide interactive demonstrations. By familiarizing students with the fundamentals of ballet, we hope to instill a curiosity about the art form and encourage children to consider pursuing dance as part of their own artistic and physical fitness goals.

🩰 Senior Spotlight: Octavia

This fall, we’re celebrating Octavia as she graduates and heads to the University of Missouri–Kansas City to major in Dance! 🎓

Octavia has grown into an artist of discipline, grace, and heart during her time at Kansas School of Classical Ballet — and we couldn’t be prouder to send her off to continue her training at the collegiate level.

Congratulations, Octavia! We can’t wait to see where your passion for dance takes you next. 💫

✨ SENIOR SPOTLIGHT ✨

Lauren has spent years in our studio building the foundation every serious dancer needs — strong technique, discipline, and an unmistakable love for the art form. This fall, she takes that foundation with her as she joins BalletMet as a trainee.

Watching a student step into the world as an artist is one of the greatest joys of what we do. Lauren, you’ve made every one of us at KSCB proud beyond words.

What if conditioning was designed specifically for the dancer?

At KSCB, Body Conditioning goes beyond a traditional strength class.

Using specialized Pilates and GYROTONIC® equipment, dancers work on the strength, stability, alignment, mobility and body awareness that directly support their technique in the studio.

Cleaner lines. Greater control. Stronger technique. Smarter movement.

This is what we mean when we say complete training.

And this is just one piece of what’s coming to KSCB this season. 👀
