The JCCC Police Department is pleased to welcome Andy Hagensick, LMSW, as the department’s first Mental Health Co-Responder.

In partnership with the Johnson County Mental Health Center, Andy will work alongside JCCC officers to respond to calls involving behavioral health concerns, providing additional support and resources to our campus community.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis on campus, contact JCCC Police at 913-469-2500 or 4111 from a campus phone. If you are off campus, call 911.

The JCCC Automotive Technology Program is putting the “hands-on” in hands-on learning!

What started a year ago as a box of parts has come a long way. The Type 65 Project Car Build was proudly on display at this year’s Kansas City World of Wheels, showcasing just how far students can take a project when they put their skills to work.

Now entering its second year, the extracurricular project is evolving to create even more opportunities for student engagement, accountability, and hands-on learning.

This is about more than just building a car. It’s about building knowledge, confidence, and experience that students can carry with them long after they leave JCCC.

Some pretty big names in Kansas City sports were honored at the recent Kansas City Sports Commission Awards, and two of them happen to be JCCC coaches.

Among this year’s honorees were a 2026 FIFA World Cup executive, a Sporting Kansas City co-founder, a television personality, and JCCC basketball coaches Rand Chappell and Ben Conrad. Read more about the recognition:
