I’m working on a painting that feels like an English garden in the Pacific Northwest. There’s a small pond in the center, flowers around the edges, and a blue sky with one soft cloud reflected in the water. The trees are more like evergreens or firs, which don’t exactly scream Kansas, but I love them, so they’re staying.
Hopefully, I will finish up this painting soon and have it hanging at Images Art Gallery in Overland Park, KS next week. Enjoy the spring color.

This painting was inspired by one of the purest feelings I can remember from childhood — soaring on a swing with the wind rushing through my hair and feeling absolutely free.

For a few moments, the world disappeared. There was only laughter, movement, and the feeling that if I swung high enough, I might touch the sky.

I wanted this piece to capture that innocence and joy we carry inside us, even as adults. Sometimes art is simply remembering what it felt like to be alive before the world became heavy. 🎨✨
