Students may join us Saturday, October 3rd for the parade.
This is an optional event.

STUDENTS PARTICIPATING MUST BE PICKED UP IMMEDIATELY AFTER OUR PORTION OF THE PARADE.
WE CANNOT WAIT FOR THE PARADE TO END FOR PARENT PICK UP.
PICK UP IS AT THE POST OFFICE ON WEST SECOND STREET.

PLEASE WALK AND FOLLOW US OR BE WAITING TO PICK UP AS SOON AS OUR PORTION OF THE PARADE IS COMPLETED.

The Premier Dance Center parade float will be located along West Main Street. We are number 58 and predict we will be parked closely around the Post Office/Main Street Donut area. Follow the numbers along the street and on parade vehicles to find 58 for Premier Dance Center.

Students should not arrive sooner than 9:45.

We do not have bathrooms available as well as water or food. Students need to use the restroom prior to arriving. They may bring a water bottle if they wish. We are not responsible for items students bring with them.

Students may bring a bag of candy to toss along the way.
Candy is not provided.

Youngest students will ride on the float along the way. Students old enough will walk/dance along the way.

OTTUMWA OKTOBERFEST PARADE

**Parade number is 58. We will also post this on our front door. Thank you!

We are registered for a place in the Ottumwa Oktoberfest Parade this Saturday, October 3, 2026. Parade is always pending rain delays/cancelations which are posted on the radio and on Facebook the day of.

This Saturday… students are welcome to join us. Littles are able to ride on the trailer or walk with a parent. Older students will dance and walk along the route. They are allowed to bring their own candy to toss as we go along. 💃🕺
We have now been told that we will have our parade number Tuesday evening but there can be delays in this. We will post this number on Facebook and on our front door as soon as we are emailed.

Please keep in mind….ALL STUDENTS MUST BE PICKED UP IMMEDIATELY ONCE OUR PORTION OF THE PARADE IS COMPLETE….NOT ONCE THE PARADE IS OVER. Easiest way to manage this is to either be seated by the end of the parade route or be waiting at the post office where we can get slowed down and stopped completely to let children off to you.

Here’s how it works….

SATURDAY… October 3rd start walking at the old O’Hara Hardware store on Main Street heading towards the post office. Numbers will be staked in the ground and on vehicles. Look for our Premier Dance Center truck/trailer with our number posted on it that day.

Parents are more than welcome to walk with children. Students will walk and dance along the way. Smallest children can ride on the trailer the entire way with a parent or responsible sibling. Space on the trailer may be slightly limited.

Line up by 9:30-9:45am before the route starts moving. This time frame is important as there are no available restrooms and it can be chilly outside for kids. Please use restrooms before arrival. Bring a water, warm clothes and wear tennis shoes. If you are able to get one or have a Premier Dance Center t-shirt please wear it! Over a sweatshirt helps to stay warm. Black or pink colors work well also. Please no dance attire due to the chill of the morning. Sweatpants, joggers, or jeans work great!

AGAIN …IMPORTANT…..We will disband at the Post Office. Parents MUST at least be at the post office to pick up children immediately following our portion of the parade. We must move the trailer and can not have a delay waiting on parent arrival. Easiest method is watching from the Hub Coffee on down and following us to the end.

Bring your own bag of candy to toss along the way! 🍬 🍭

Things to remember!

1. Arrive by 9:30-9:45am (not sooner, we do not have access to bathrooms) and walking from O’Hara Hardware down to find our number.

2. Dress warm, wear black/pink or if you have one, your Premier Dance Center shirt, and wear tennis shoes.

3. PARENTS! Be at the post office immediately following our portion of the parade for pick up. We cannot wait until the end of the parade with children due to needing to disband and move the trailer for other entries. Hub Coffee on down is a great place to watch from and then walk to follow us along the route to make pick up easier.

Dance Starts this week!! 💃❤️💃❤️💃❤️💃

We are excited to see everyone back on the dance floor starting tomorrow! The first week is a little crazy so please bear with us.

We will start the week with acro 2, 3, and 4 as well as our oldest dancers. We will end the week with our babies and youngest dancers!

New parents please remember this is an adjustment for students being away from you even for short bits of time. We will dry tears (even yours! 🤗). Remind our newest dancers that you are waiting right outside the doors in the waiting area. They will walk in with the teachers and begin their first class working on social skills, rhythmic skills, basic beginner ballet, and following guidelines in a classroom. Please talk with your students about this exciting opportunity. Let them know how proud you are of them for choosing to dance. A sweet treat after dance always helps too!
This is a weekly routine. Remind them they will go into class with the teachers, new dance friends, and you will be so excited to see them and hear all about it as soon as they come out of class. This makes for a little easier transition. ❤️

Youngest students are expected to wait for their class time in the waiting area with a guardian. Babies will need to have a parent in the waiting area for the duration of class. All other dance parents may leave and return for pick up once class has started.

Anyone who has registered late, we will have a help table by the waiting area. Once class has started and things quiet down, if you are needing to fill out your registration card head to the table to fill out your registration card and pick up your tuition booklet. 💃

Happy dance beginnings! We can’t wait to meet you all!

All students! Please have your dance attire on and ready to go and shoes in your bag. For those that ordered shoes needing to be shipped…we have them and they will be passed out the first day!

Pointe 1 students….first day of class we will go over how to tie our ribbons and sew ribbons if there are questions.
