The Ottumwa Community Players, in association with Indian Hills Performing Arts
and Ottumwa High School Theatre, are proud to announce their upcoming
production of the acclaimed Broadway musical Come From Away. Opening on the
twenty-fifth anniversary of the terror attacks on the United States, the production
dates are September 11th-13th at Ottumwa High School Auditorium.

Based on the remarkable true story of 7,000 airline passengers who were stranded in
the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, in the wake of September 11, 2001. Come
From Away tells a powerful story of kindness, resilience, and the extraordinary bonds
that can form in the face of adversity. With a soaring score and heartfelt storytelling, the
show celebrates humanity at its best.
“This production is especially meaningful for our community,” said Co-Director Jeff
Leonard. “Come From Away reminds us that even in the darkest times, people can
come together with compassion and generosity. It’s a story that feels just as relevant
today as ever.”
Audiences can expect an emotionally moving and ultimately uplifting theatrical
experience directed by Dr. Jennifer Boyenga and Jeff Leonard. The Ottumwa
Community Players cast features a talented ensemble of twelve area performers and
eight accompanying band members, bringing to life multiple characters and cultures
through dynamic music and storytelling.
Performances will be held September 11th and 12th at 7 pm and the 13th at 2 pm at
Ottumwa High School Auditorium. Tickets are $15 for adults, and only $5 for
students of any age. Advance tickets are recommended and are on sale now at
