OU CONNECT is headed to the KC Zoo & Aquarium! 🦈🖤💛

Braves, we’re ready to Connect again—and this time we’re gathering inside the KC Zoo & Aquarium!

Join us Thursday, September 24, from 5–7 p.m. for a casual evening of reconnecting, sharing stories and spending time with fellow members of the OU family in an amazing setting... the Zoo Aquarium 🐬

OU alumni, family and friends are all invited—and the event is FREE!

We’ll provide the drinks and appetizers. You just bring yourself, your family and a few OU stories to share!

Admission is free, but registration is required so we know how many guests to plan for.

A new piece of art — and a meaningful piece of our story — now has a home on the Ottawa University campus.

The second new mural on campus, located on the south side of the Myers Building, celebrates Ottawa, our community, and a connection that reaches all the way back to the University’s founding in 1865.

Look closely and you’ll see two river otters featured in the mural. The river otter is the sacred animal of the Ottawa Tribe of Oklahoma — a fitting tribute to the Tribe whose partnership with Baptist missionaries led to the founding of Ottawa University more than 160 years ago.

The mural was created by OU alum Ellise Romine '25, with OU students lending a hand to help paint and bring her vision to life. It was made possible through funding from the American Eagle Better World Foundation, with generous in-kind support from Loyd Builders and Pelton Painting.

We are grateful to everyone who played a part in creating this beautiful and meaningful addition to our campus

And we think its message says it pretty well:

“There is no place like Ottawa.”

Braves defeat KW 33-13 at AdventHealth Field at Ottawa University in their season opener! The Braves become only the third NAIA team to win 600 games 🏆 Congratulations to this 2026 squad and all football alums on such an accomplishment 💛🖤

Happy 80th Birthday, Don Creed ’69!

Don and his wife Carolyn have been among the most committed supporters of Ottawa University, especially its academic programs in STEM and the health sciences.

The Creeds provided major gifts toward the construction of the Creed Family Greenhouse on the Ottawa campus and the launch of the prelicensure nursing and physician assistant programs in Kansas City.

In honor of Don’s 80th, the Creeds committed $1 million to support new student scholarships, faculty development initiatives, curricular innovations, and investments in facilities and equipment in STEM and the health sciences.

Thank you so much for your generosity and vision, Don, and have a wonderful birthday!

WHAT A NIGHT AT OU CONNECT! 🖤💛

More than 40 Braves, family and friends joined us last night at Corner Market for our latest OU CONNECT, and we couldn’t have been happier with the turnout!

It was exactly what OU Connect is all about — reconnecting with old friends, making new connections, sharing stories and simply enjoying some time together as part of the OU family.

We were also glad to have several board members of the Ottawa University Alumni Association join us for the evening. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make it such a fun night!

And congratulations to our prize winners! 🎉
