FUNCTION: The authority and duties of the board are to: 1. Advise the Auditorium Manager of groups which might be interested in using the Municipal Audit

orium; 2. Advise the Auditorium Manager of what additional information and data should be gathered so as to attract conventions, touring companies, and other groups to use the Municipal Auditorium; 3. Advise the Auditorium Manager of additional attractions or events which might increase the utilization of the Municipal Auditorium; 4. Assist the Auditorium Manager in promoting the use of the Municipal Auditorium. 5. Direct all inquiries from persons or groups desiring to use the Municipal Auditorium to the Auditorium Manager. 6. Make reports to the Governing Body concerning the Municipal Auditorium activities at least twice yearly. 7. Make recommendations concerning the annual budget, including capital improvements to the Governing Body..

The lessons have been taught, now it's time to PLAY! Join us for Mah Jongg open play this Sunday, August 23rd from 2pm - 4pm. Our Mah Jongg instructors will still be available for questions but this is a time to put all those new skills to work!

This Sunday we begin our "Learn To Play Mah Jong" Series! This is THE game taking over the country right now! Come learn to play with our instructor and by the end of the 4 weeks feel confident in playing on your own. You do NOT need to bring Mah Jong tiles with you! We'll provide everything you need PLUS a snack and refreshments.

The Auditorium reopened its doors on October 8, 1978 after an extensive $680,000 renovation. The OMA is a community hub for live music, theatre and dance productions, meeting space and rental options. The Ottawa Memorial Auditorium has a 35 foot proscenium stage and seats 830 guests.

Have you been wanting to learn Mah Jong? Now is the perfect time!

The Friends of the OMA are hosting a four-week Mah Jong series that's designed for both beginners and experienced players. Whether you've never played before or you're looking for a welcoming place to enjoy the game, this series has something for everyone.

The series begins Sunday, August 9, with a two-hour instructional class where you'll learn everything you need to get started. The following week features guided play with the instructor, followed by two weeks of open play with instructor support available to answer questions and help build your confidence.

Registration is available for the full four-week series, and experienced players can also register for the open play sessions on August 23 and August 30.

Mah Jong tiles and light refreshments will be provided.
