Traughber JHS Band The Traughber JHS Band Program strives to offer the best music education in the country for young instrumentalists.

The Band Program at Traughber Junior High School is comprised of 300 of the most dedicated students in the school, expressing their artistry through our five performing ensembles. We are pleased to receive strong support from our parents, administration, and community as we pursue this goal. Our students and ensembles have been recognized at local, state, and national levels for their work. Many

of our alums continue to perform and teach professionally. The department provides many opportunities throughout the year to hear our musicians. Please take a look at our calendar and we hope to see you at our upcoming events.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton today. Everyone knows of her musical talents and philanthropy. However, less people know that she was a percussionist and majorette in her Sevier County High School Band in Sevierville, Tennessee. Fewer know that she quietly funded numerous band programs over the years purchasing uniforms and instruments for not only her alma mater, but underfunded programs in lower socioeconomic schools. This was done anonymously for many years until it was discovered and reported on in 2022. While certainly an amazing musician, she is beloved because she was an even better person.

An extra bonus that he was able to study with some of the best in the field, including VanderCook College President Kimberly Farris.

I have posted this before but we still have some spots open.

This is a one day event and price includes the students’ shirt, food, and ticket to the DeKalb DCI show.
Students perform at the show and the HS students get to play with the corps on Elsa’s-cmon-that alone is epic!
Tony Marinello will be heading up the HS portion.
Barry Houser will be our leader for the JHS students.
Lots of fun and time to hang with and see the corps rehearse!
