🎸 That’s a wrap on the 2026 Band Experience season! 🎸
Five years ago, the Bad Apa’s were the very first GMMS Band Experience band. They helped me prototype what was, at the time, a brand-new idea: What if students could experience what it actually feels like to be in a band? Not just learn songs in a lesson, but rehearse together, work as a team, get on a stage, figure things out, make mistakes, find their sound, and experience the incredible feeling of making music together.
And look where we are now. ❤️
Five years later, the Band Experience has grown into 7 student bands, with students performing at local restaurants, festivals, fundraisers, open mics, GMMS events, and community celebrations—and even beginning to venture out into regional events and festivals.
I am so incredibly proud of every single student who stepped onto a stage this season. Watching these bands grow—not just as musicians, but as people who learn to listen to each other, support each other, solve problems together, and find their own voices—is one of my favorite things about GMMS.
Thank you to our students, families, teachers, venues, event organizers, and everyone who came out to listen and cheer them on. You are what makes this experience possible.
And now… we start dreaming about Band Experience 2027. 🎶
