Fruit Bowl Paint Party

Saturday, June 27 at 1 pm

Here’s a new style everyone will love.

Bonnie Sommers’ Fruit Bowl has hints of cubism and will be a lot of fun to paint. Bonnie will instruct everyone how to create this dramatically styled painting for themselves.

Ten brave people attended the latest Cranky Cat Paint Party on Saturday. They worked diligently to produce their own Cranky Cats!

Wow! I forgot to mention my amazingly awesome assistant for this class — Bonnie Sommers!! She hustled around guiding people, taking photos, and getting them supplies when needed. THANKS, BONNIE!!

I'm planning another event for later this month, which will involve — cats. Stay tuned!

Why was the Emerging Artist Program developed for Oswego County?
Ultimately, this program is rooted in a simple belief- that artists thrive when they are seen, supported, and invited into meaningful dialogue. By investing in emerging artists today, we are strengthening the future of our creative community as a whole.

Deadline to apply is May 31, 2026, 11:59 pm.

The new Oswego County Emerging Artist Program will begin in May of 2026 with a callfor emerging artists to apply. The entrants must be a minimum of 18 years old andreside in Oswego County. There is no charge to apply.

“I’m not sure if I’m an emerging artist-how do I know?”

If you are still building your portfolio, gaining exhibition experience, or working toward greater visibility, you likely qualify. We encourage you to apply, there’s no charge.

Four days remain to apply for the first annual Oswego County Emerging Artist Program, a joint venture between Riverside Artisans and Art Association of Oswego.
What is an emerging artist? An emerging artist is any artist who is actively developing their practice and seeking to grow professionally (no, you don’t have to want to become a professional artist), regardless of age or background. This may be those new to exhibiting, transitioning into a more serious practice, or returning to art after time off (late starters, self-taught artists, or re-entering artists after a break). The individual should be willing to devote the time and effort to develop artistically. Please check out the website! Deadline to apply is May 31, 11:59 pm.
