Art with Coffee: Miniature Resin Drinks
Saturday, October 3, 10 am–noon

Instructor: Antonia D’Amato

Antonia D’Amato is a miniaturist artist living in Oswego, who has been working with small scale for years. Recently, she discovered resin and that all sorts of miniatures could be made out of this medium.

Learn about making miniatures. During the class, you will make a miniature item, a mini drink that you can take home. All materials needed and tweezers will be supplied.

$15 for members and $20 for non-members

Art with Coffee: Chain Pull Acrylic Painting
Saturday, September 26, 10 am–noon

Instructor: Theresa Bower

$15 for members and $20 for non-members
No need to register; just come!

Theresa has taught paint pouring in the past. Chain pull painting is another form of fluid art. The class will work on three paintings using different-sized beaded chains and thinned paints, pulling different colors of paint through the background color, which creates a frond-like pattern in the paint.

Theresa will demonstrate for the class and then help them through the process.

Due to the setup for this type of work, the class will be limited to 10 people.

The paintings will have to dry for a few days, so the participants may pick up their work on the following Wednesday from 10 am to 1 pm, or Thursday from 5 to 8 pm.

Sundays, 4–6:30 pm

This class will guide you step by step with basic throwing techniques and the process of trimming, drying, and firing your pottery. Advanced techniques will be offered for students who want to work on more complicated forms (covered jars, bottles, matching sets). Students are encouraged to attend one open studio hour to stay on pace with trimming and drying projects.

Instruction, clay, basic tools, glazes, and firings included.

Tickets are $1 or 6 tickets for $5. Purchase at the AAO during gallery hours.

All ticket money goes to the Art Association of Oswego, a completely volunteer-run non-profit organization.

The Art Association of Oswego will be open during special hours on Saturday, September 19th because we are having SPOTS, our first annual flea market fundraiser. We will be open from 8 am until 4 pm, and SPOTS will be active from 9 am until 3 pm. In addition, our three galleries will be open, featuring the stunning photography of Peter Mahan in our Alcove Gallery, the beautiful Then and Now painting exhibition by Barbara Beyerbach in the Kirk Beason Gallery, and the amazing Robert Love Collaboration with Nature woodturning exhibition in the Tim McHenry Gallery. Come see some great art and enjoy SPOTS!
