💜 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Yahweh Will Manifest" by Oasis Ministry feat. Laila Olivera. Why not try asking Alexa, Siri, or google to play it for you?!
💚 Daily Verse: Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.
☆ Psalm 23:6 NLT
🩵 Let's Talk About It: As I look back at my life, I can see God’s hand on my life from an early age. I remember when I was having medical issues as a child. I would just pass out for no reason. I’m not sure what age it started, but I remember undergoing many different brain scans, tests, and bloodwork on a regular basis for many years.
Sometimes I would lose consciousness when I hit my funny bone or ate something too hot. As I began to grow, it became more and more evident that my body’s response to stress was to shut down. I’ll never forget, however, when my grandmother took me to a prayer meeting for the first time. I was around nine years old.
While I had been to church with her many times before, I never heard anyone speak in tongues. I didn’t even see people raise their hands or clap during worship. The hymns that were sung were sung with reverence, but not much outward awe or adoration.
This prayer meeting was different than any church. I heard people speaking a different language, and at first, it scared me. As she pulled me up for prayer, I heard a woman ask, “what does she need prayer for?” My grandmother said, “she keeps having these spells. She just passes out. Sometimes it happens in school, sometimes at home. They just can’t find out what is wrong. Pray that God would heal her, please.”
As a group of women surrounded me, I felt a sense of relief, surprisingly. As they laid their hands on me, I felt like electricity run through my body from the top of my head to the tips of my toes. I couldn’t understand what anyone was saying, but I could feel; and it felt like someone was doing something. I was tingling all over!
As I stood there, I fell under the weight of the anointing on me (I know this now). My grandmother declared me healed and for nearly five years, I didn’t pass out. My healing came in stages. There were many valleys, and many mountain top moments, but Jehovah Rapha, the God who Heals is faithful.
For those of us who put our trust in Him, His love and goodness will pursue us all the days of our lives, and we too, will live in the house of YHWH forever!
🧡 Prayer: Dear Father, thank You for reminding me of every single touch, every single moment that You and I have shared throughout my life. Thank You for healing me; mind, body, and soul. Thank You for Your Word that refreshes me, equips me, speaks life into me, reminds me of Your unfailing love, and teaches me how to love others as You love me. Help me to be a better servant, Lord, selflessly putting the needs of others before my own self-indulgences. Help me to be a beacon of light and love in this culture. Jesus, You are an amazing friend and I am grateful to walk through life with You and Your Holy Spirit by my side. I love You Jesus, and in Your name I pray, amen.
