Daily Devotional – Love of God – February 29, 2024

💜 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Yahweh Will Manifest" by Oasis Ministry feat. Laila Olivera. Why not try asking Alexa, Siri, or google to play it for you?!

💚 Daily Verse: Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.
☆ Psalm 23:‬6 NLT

🩵 Let's Talk About It: As I look back at my life, I can see God’s hand on my life from an early age. I remember when I was having medical issues as a child. I would just pass out for no reason. I’m not sure what age it started, but I remember undergoing many different brain scans, tests, and bloodwork on a regular basis for many years.

Sometimes I would lose consciousness when I hit my funny bone or ate something too hot. As I began to grow, it became more and more evident that my body’s response to stress was to shut down. I’ll never forget, however, when my grandmother took me to a prayer meeting for the first time. I was around nine years old.

While I had been to church with her many times before, I never heard anyone speak in tongues. I didn’t even see people raise their hands or clap during worship. The hymns that were sung were sung with reverence, but not much outward awe or adoration.

This prayer meeting was different than any church. I heard people speaking a different language, and at first, it scared me. As she pulled me up for prayer, I heard a woman ask, “what does she need prayer for?” My grandmother said, “she keeps having these spells. She just passes out. Sometimes it happens in school, sometimes at home. They just can’t find out what is wrong. Pray that God would heal her, please.”

As a group of women surrounded me, I felt a sense of relief, surprisingly. As they laid their hands on me, I felt like electricity run through my body from the top of my head to the tips of my toes. I couldn’t understand what anyone was saying, but I could feel; and it felt like someone was doing something. I was tingling all over!

As I stood there, I fell under the weight of the anointing on me (I know this now). My grandmother declared me healed and for nearly five years, I didn’t pass out. My healing came in stages. There were many valleys, and many mountain top moments, but Jehovah Rapha, the God who Heals is faithful.

For those of us who put our trust in Him, His love and goodness will pursue us all the days of our lives, and we too, will live in the house of YHWH forever!

🧡 Prayer: Dear Father, thank You for reminding me of every single touch, every single moment that You and I have shared throughout my life. Thank You for healing me; mind, body, and soul. Thank You for Your Word that refreshes me, equips me, speaks life into me, reminds me of Your unfailing love, and teaches me how to love others as You love me. Help me to be a better servant, Lord, selflessly putting the needs of others before my own self-indulgences. Help me to be a beacon of light and love in this culture. Jesus, You are an amazing friend and I am grateful to walk through life with You and Your Holy Spirit by my side. I love You Jesus, and in Your name I pray, amen.

Love of God – Day 28 – February 28, 2024

💜 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "A Thousand More" by Thrive Worship.

💚 Daily Verse: All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.
☆ Ephesians 1:3‭-‬6 NLT

🩵 Let's Talk About It: I just love this verse. With only one day left in this reading plan, it has been amazing filling up on God's love and I just think it's beautiful that this scripture both begins and ends in a call for praise.

There is none more worthy than God for our praise; not shows, movies, actors, athletes, no one compares to our God!

The paradox of our faith is that we must choose salvation, however Paul clearly states that before we were ever given the opportunity to choose to accept the Gospel message of Christ, God chose us.

Let that sink in...

GOD CHOSE YOU, FRIEND! ‬‬
With all our faults and natural tendencies and inclinations, God would still choose to use people like you and I to exact His plan.

If that doesn't get you excited, you may want to check yourself for a pulse.😉

Before we end our study of God's love, let’s give Him some praise.

Hallelujah! God is love!

🧡 Prayer: Dear God, You alone deserve my praise and worship. Lord, forgive me if I have ever placed an idol over You. If I have any idols in my life, seek them out and show them to me so I can surrender them under Your Lordship. Thank You, Holy Spirit for revealing these things to me so that I can let it go and become closer to You. Lord, there is none like You. I am in awe of Your magnificence and mighty power. Thank You for choosing me. I am nothing without You and grateful for Your unfailing love and unending mercy. I pray Your will be done, Father, on earth as it is in Heaven. I love You Jesus and in Your name I pray, amen.‬

🧡 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "So Will I (100 Billion X)" by Hillsong UNITED. Why not try asking Alexa, Siri, or google to play it for you?!

🩵 Daily Verse: “What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.
☆ Luke 12:6‭-‬7 NLT

💛 Let's Talk About It: God had been sharing little gold nuggets with me for the past week or so. I feel like I keep hearing Him say, "you are treasured!" And there's such a warmth and gentleness I feel in my spirit.

Today's verse confirms just how valuable each and every one of us are to Jesus.

I couldn't count the numbers of hair on my own head, yet God keeps track of them. What I take for granted, He values. My breath comes without thought or conscious effort. Each respiration we take testifies to God's love for us.

Have you thanked Him for the breath in your lungs today? Take a moment to just breathe, and while you do whisper a thank you to the One who continues to grant you life.💜

💙 Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for creating my body the way you did. I thank You that I do not have to consciously think about breathing, making my heart beat, or digesting food. Father, only You could design us with such intricacies, and I am so thankful that You did. Holy Spirit, thank You for guiding me throughout my days and convicting me when I do something wrong. Thank You for praying for me when I am without words and thank You for steering me in the direction I need to go in order to fulfill God's will for my life. Thank You, Jesus, for loving me. May Your will be done, God. I love You Jesus and in Your name I pray, amen.‬‬‬

Love of God – Day 26 – February 26, 2024

🧡 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "God Turn It Around " by Church of the City. Why not try asking Alexa, Siri, or google to play it for you?!

🩵 Daily Verse: But— When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.
☆ Titus 3:4‭-‬5 NLT

💛 Let's Talk About It: Aren't you glad that our salvation isn't based on works, but rather is based on our faith in what Christ did on the Cross?

I don't know about you, but I know I could never earn my way to heaven and I am so grateful I do not have to attempt to try like countless generations had to before Christ the Messiah did away with the old Mosaic Covenant and ushered in a New Covenant - one in which He is the arbitrator.

See, the Covenant we hold with God isn't really held by us. It's held by Christ, and our submission to Him opens the door to His invitation to join Him.

See friends, we have no power or authority in our own right, but Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith, holds ALL authority and when we accept Him as Master of our life, He shares that authority with us.

After all, Peter healed people with his shadow. Paul did a complete 180° turn around and went from being a persecutor of Christians to one of the most prolific champions of our faith the world has ever seen, co-authoring 1/3 of the New Testament.

As the worship song states, "God turned it around." We are each living examples of God turning things around because of His amazingly awesome love.

I challenge you to testify to that life-changing love today!💓

💙 Prayer: Dear God who can do what You do? Who can see what You see and hear what You hear? Who can heal like You? Who can redeem mankind like You? Who is like You, God? There is NONE other than the triune God - God the Father, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and Your precious Holy Spirit that leads each of Your children back into redemption. Your plan of salvation God, is the most beautiful love story ever written. I thank You for choosing me, for convicting me, for redeeming me, cleansing me, and for baptizing me in Your precious Holy Spirit. Lord, I am nothing without You. You ARE the Author and Finisher of my faith and I cling to You with all of my heart, mind, body, spirit, and soul. May Your will be done, God. I love You Jesus, and in Your name I pray, amen.‬‬‬

Love of God – Day 25 – February 25, 2024

🩵 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Stand In Your Love" by Bethel Music. Why not try asking Alexa, Siri, or google to play it for you?!

🧡 Daily Verse: The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust. Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. The wind blows, and we are gone— as though we had never been here. But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children.
☆ Psalms 103:8‭-‬17 NLT

💜 Let's Talk About It: There are so many amazing promises in our reading for today it is hard to know where to begin.

"He doesn't punish us for all of our sins," speaks to me because I know I don't deserve half of what God has done for me. I have made SO MANY mistakes, but fortunately, our God is "compassionate & merciful."

The last sentence is also one that stands out to me. I can rest assured my son and future grandchildren will be saved because of the legacy of Christ I am both living and teaching him. To those with prodigal children, I want to encourage you to go back through and read this passage today. Meditate on it. Savor it.

God hears your prayers, and I believe He wants you to know that He is working. He is faithful and His salvation extends to our children’s children. Praise God!🙌🏻

💚 Prayer: Dear God, thank You for encouraging me and many others that all Your promises are yes and amen. Thank You for not forsaking me or punishing me as I may deserve. Thank You for rescuing me, for loving me, and extending mercy and grace. Help me to be a beacon of light to others who feel alone in the darkness. Your light, Lord, is what we all need. Thank You Holy Spirit, for directing my steps. May my life be a living sacrifice. I love You Jesus and in Your name I pray, amen.‬‬‬
