An evening of remembrance, reflection, and artistic expression as we honor Abolition Commemoration Day.

New York’s Road to Freedom will explore local legacies of enslavement including resistance and emancipation in Westchester County and the greater Hudson Valley through historical discussion, living history reenactments, music, and storytelling. Art will serve as a bridge between past and present, engaging with history beyond the written record.

Gather in remembrance, learning, and conversation as we commemorate the struggle for freedom and recognize the importance of preserving local history.

We are thrilled and grateful to announce that BAC has been awarded a $99,000 Capital Improvement Grant by the New York State Council on the Arts to install a new fire alarm system in our building.

This grant is part of a capital project funding announcement by NYSCA, which totals over $82 million to 132 arts and culture facilities across New York State. Congrats to all awardees!

New York State Council on the Arts Executive Director Erika Mallin said, “We know that when the arts flourish, communities follow — bringing energy, creating jobs, expanding accessibility, and increasing tourism. This grant program is a critical investment in our creative sector, empowering our creative community and inspiring innovation. Congratulations to all the grantees, we look forward to seeing these diverse projects develop all throughout the state.”

Thank you New York State Council on the Arts for all you do for the arts in our state.

Studio Artist Spotlight!
HEART WITHIN THE ART “THEN \ NOW”
Jan Smith Castronuovo: A 20-Year Retrospective
June 4 – July 24

THEN \ NOW focuses on relationships—with the individual self & with family members—being a wife, mother, sister, daughter, cousin—& the struggle to maintain that individual spirit within, as outer needs from others become more complex. This exhibit is about finding & expressing Self-Love, celebrating creativity from that deep meditative wellspring found inside each of us. Thank you one & all for hearing me out & seeing these pieces of myself needing to be revealed.
